Zirax missiles and player missiles both behave like that. It's stop stop lazy people from cheesing turret AI and use actual tactics at fighting a POI. The tracking and speed is found on the rocket ammo itself.
I tried the dead planet (nuclear winter cryo pod) starter on hard settings and I'm not sure if it's even doable without dying and without knowledge of exactly how to do a 'perfect' run. Mainly because the combination of rad ointment not reducing rads and food consumption fast (which is unrealistically crazy fast at something like a burger every 2-3 hours if the same as vanilla). So you have to use the rad immunity shot, which makes you starve even faster. Anyone else done this scenario on hard? I like a challenge, but it seems like too much cheese is required to overcome this one. Really, I think the there needs to be another food consumption setting, Fast->Stupid, and a new Fast between Medium and Stupid.
Excuse me but I fail to understand why don't you just tweak the stats that bother you. You can tweak enemy bullet-spongyness, hunger rate, effects etc....unless somebody is paying you to play on everything hard off course;-) I prefer challenge in fighting rather then eating and Reforged surely is challenging enough in fighting.
Did you try the same start setting BUT within Project Eden-Scenario WITHOUT "Reforged"? If NO, you are able to figure out a 'How To Start' and after it you still can try to kill you faster.
Considering that Reforged Eden and Vanilla use the same hunger consumption values, there shouldn't be a difference. Actually, since Reforged's status effects were reworked to function with the modern game, you lose less hunger from status effects because your stamina doesn't zero in a few seconds from a minor illness, putting your hunger into overdrive like vanilla.
The Dead start in Project Eden is probably the second hardest starting planet. On "hard" difficulty preset it's extremely difficult unless you know exactly what you're doing. That's intended.
My point was more about meta gaming being required and perhaps even then not enough without dying. For instance, you must goto the nearest POI supply cache first, not necessarily the easiest one to get to. So if you get bad terrain between you and the nearest and think I'll just go over the flat an extra 20m... but then you don't get a motorcycle and are dead because you don't have enough stuff to make the trek to another POI (you can technically make it, but it's a game over situation). Or with the rads, I suspect it's only possible to manage it by re-tooling a bed into a shower because stupidly it requires a large constructor to make them, not the scenarios fault obviously), but that's a pretty meta trick too.
Well sounds like you know how to beat it now. The harder starts in Eden are balanced around expecting players to be highly experienced with the game, whether you call it "meta tricks" or just having knowledge of the game's mechanics. They are beatable in the default game. Reforged Galaxy can make some of them a lot harder, however.
Quick Question: What does lack of CPU points do to a Base/Ship? I know it reduces Power output of Generators, but does it other things? (also is it the same in reforged eden as in base game?) Thanks.
Yes, the effects of CPU on a ship/base are the same for vanilla and reforged. Generators produces less power (so it takes less to overload them) Thrusters produce less thrust Weapons apparently take longer to reload and turrets turn slower, but it's kinda hard to test that one. Constructors take longer to build stuff.
I think you guys have done a fantastic job, congratulations and thank you for all your work. I have however come across a problem. I started a base in the Heidelberg and it gets attacked every second day in game, which is great and challenging however it leads to negative pirate faction. I just tried to move down the storyline and go to the pirate base. With negative pirate faction, just from defending my base its now hostile and I can't get the recipe. I have attacked nothing apart from the POI's on the starter planet. I assume this is an oversight as there seems no way forward now.
You can of corse try to increase your Faction Standing with the Pirates again - or - if you see it as a game breaker(for you) open console - type in faction rep local Pir 12001 that brings you back to neutral (18001 friendly)
You can obtain the recipe by killing the pirates too I believe. However, this is the default game. I haven't updated the scenario for a bit so it's possible that this was already fixed in the default game.
Yea, i got the recepy by killing everyone, but the station has an admin core and 2 big laser turrets covering the hangar where it is in a box rather in the middle of the room without real cover... so i ended up cheating god mode for picking it up because hand weapons cant really damage those guns... i wish it was possible to blow up the generators, but its not possible to damage those i think it would be possible to destroy the guns with a ship if one mines the hangar wall away, but i did not have enough firepower then.
In the vanilla game you start neutral with pirates, but in Reforged Galaxy and Project Eden (and therefore Reforged Eden) you start unfriendly with pirates. The rep for all factions is different in these scenarios compared to vanilla. I console cheated my rep to neutral in my last game so I could complete the non-hostile version of the mission, as I hadn't gone that route before. You have to kill a lot of Zirax to get pirates from the bottom of unfriendly to neutral otherwise.
Heads up for the experimental branch: Having multiple of the new asteroid rings in a single space playfield causes an error loop. I'll be updating the scenario to remove those multiple rings from playfields but it will only apply to new games. I'll also file a bug report on it in case it is a bug so hopefully it can be fixed. It affects the playfields associated with Object 82 and some of the Progenitor Core sectors, so if you're on the experimental branch do not warp to those sectors or you'll lose your save game.
I have started the Reforged Eden scenario. Very according to the level of experienced players !! I have a question, I don't know if it's normal. When a container is destroyed the container that is left with the items disappears after 3 seconds! And in another case an SV disappeared in space, after dying and reappearing in the vicinity. I never found it again. 3 space drones attacked me, destroying my thrusters. I came down from the SV to defend him and ended up dead (obviously) But when he reincarnated, the SV was gone! He comenzado el escenario Reforged Eden. Me atacaron 3 drones espaciales, destruyendo mis propulsores. Bajé del SV para defenderlo y terminé muerto (obviamente ) Pero al reencarnar el SV ya no estaba!
Item box decay speeds are hardcoded. There is no difference between vanilla and reforged. Which should be 3 minutes, not seconds. The loss of your ship is also a vanilla problem, since it has nothing to do with the scenario.
