I play on a server with Reforged Eden. And just in the Base tech line, Im lacking 4445 points to complete the tree. Choices have to be made and not having played Empyrion before a couple of months ago, the choices made were from that lack of experience making the game extremely difficult. There were a lot of things I should have left off. But inexperience with the game means I made many wrong choices. And statements like yours helped make those choices. I would think an admin command would be better so that the players cant keep switching their set up. I asked here first because if it's hardcoded, then it's an issue for the game devs to deal with. If it can be added into the modding, then this is where I get my answer. At some time, it will become a make or break for the game and better to get it now rather than later after people leave. Yeah... I already have a base and several ships and am in a faction. Brilliant advice.
The developers are not responsible for custom content. Reforged Eden has multiple ways of obtaining additional unlock points. There's nothing for the developers to fix. The two of you have integrated your scenarios so well, into the base game, that it is often difficult to know when an issue is caused/related to Vanilla or Reforged or Eden or Reforged Eden. Even if the player understands that they are playing a scenario that was created by someone other than Eleon.
I don't quite understand what you are asking for here. Do you want to put the techtree back in its initial state, with all items "locked" and player back to level 1 ? Or do you want to just reset the techtree but not the player level anywhere during a game ? As for "admin commands" there are quite a few to solve your problem. Just type "help" in the game's console and you will find them. They will not "reset the techtree" but you can change level and get any number of unlock points, or simply unlock all items in the techtree.
