For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 4016 Mode: Singleplayer Mode: Survival SERVER NAME: NA SEED-ID: Any If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Both Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Type: NPC damage Summary: NPCs and sentry turrets deal double the damage to players that they are supposed to. Description: NPCs and sentry turrets are currently dealing double the damage to the player as they are supposed to based on the enemy difficulty setting in the difficulty menu. The enemy difficulty is supposed to scale NPC damage like so: Easy: 50% Medium: 100% Hard: 200% Instead the current scaling is: Easy: 100% Medium: 200% Hard: 400% This was tested in both default survival using a TotalHorror NPC, and in Project Eden using a custom Zirax Sniper set to deal exactly 100 damage in the configs, as well as an alien sentry turret in Project Eden. In every case, the damage dealt by the NPC or sentry gun was 100% on easy, 200% on medium, and 400% on hard compared to the damage set on its weapon in the config files. A TotalHorror was dealing 260 damage on medium difficulty when in the config files the damage is set to 130. Damage for all other tests were also consistent with the above listed damage multipliers. This means players are taking double the intended damage in the game, whether default survival, or a custom scenario. Easy is now medium, medium is now hard, and hard is now INSANE. Player armor damage reduction and NPC level scaling seem to be correct (so a level 10 NPC deals 2.5x the damage of a level 1 NPC, which means a level 10 NPC on hard will deal 1000% damage when it's supposed to be 500%). I did not test if NPC/Turret damage versus player ships is affected, or NPC health. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Start a new survival game in any difficulty setting. 2) Take off your armor so you have no damage reduction. 3) Spawn a NPC and look up its damage in the config files. 4) Let it hit you once and note the damage. 5) Change the difficulty and test again. NPCs will deal 100%/200%/400% damage on easy/medium/hard, instead of the intended 50%/100%/200%. Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
haha, yeah Ill keep my server medium... I mean hard. no need for a new savegame when changing difficulty right?
Yikes, I thought it felt like I was getting hit a lot harder than usual, but I wasn't entirely sure what was going on and thought maybe I'm just being slow or something.
The difficulty factors are still 50%/100%/200%. Nothing changed regarding those. However, the weapons changed If the player is the attacker his damage decreases with higher difficulty setting, if an NPC is the attacker its damage increases.
