I have already previously gotten and completed missions for Talon farmers, was going to do a few more to see if I could unlock a mission from the chief. But now the Settlement Chief has a completely empty dialog box. So this actually WORKED before and now everything is broken? When did you start that savegame? In EXP or before? Or with the current release candidate?
Yes, it was working recently. Yes, now everything is broken. I can't think of what would have broken it, other than the update. I recently finished the tales of Tash mission of collecting the ancient logs... I think I talked to the settlement chief after I finished, but I'm not certain. I started the game maybe 3 weeks or a month ago? I was just using whatever steam installed by default... I don't think it was the experimental branch, but not sure. Does the save file I provided indicate what version it was created with?
Ok, I noticed you started with 1.9.13 ... so did you go back to Akua (as you are already level 25)? The issue is: in 1.10 the playfield and related POI and missions changed....
Yes, I went back to Akua and the other 3 starter moons to finish the tales of Tash, and to collect anything else of interest I may have missed. Plus my main base currently of on Akua.
No, it is clear what happened I am afraid.... Hard to find a fix here as too many things changed... but as you are "only" 20 ingame hours in the game I would strongly recommend to restart maybe.? (as this would open up ALL the locale starter missions of the 5 starter playfields + reneves main story mission start) Also.. didn't you have the problem of the Heidelberg wreckage was already cleared so you could not proceed on that quest?
Other than that.. I am really sorry for that .. but you might then ignore the starter planets you already visited before 1.10 and, in case you are stuck in a mission, use the checkbox in the Actions overview and manually complete them. Again, very sorry...
I guess I'll start over, but right now for me, 20 hours is kind of a long time lol. I don't have a whole lot of time for gaming. I accept your apology, but I do hope in the future you will be a bit more careful t to develop in a way that doesn't break existing saves. As for the Heidelberg, I'm not sure... I don't think I got to a quest yet that sent me there. Is that a known bug in the older version, that that poi doesn't always spawn? Or is that a structure I deconstructed/salvaged for spare parts? There have been a few structures I salvaged... I wasn't aware they might be quest related. Maybe you should consider putting some sort of protection on quest-related structures that make them impossible to claim or retrieve blocks from until the mission stage related to them is cleared? Because it's hard for me as a player to know what is and isn't safe to salvage.
Oh, wait, is the Heidelberg the ship I was supposed to kill the enemy troops at on omicron? That ship was there, and the troops were too. I just hadn't cleared it yet, because I was finishing up stuff in Crown sector. I think I will take advantage of the fact the mission system let's me just skip mission stages, to fast-forward through some of the stuff I already did. That's a decent way to avoid too much replay.
