    Hey all,

So, POIs. Love them or hate them, I'm sure we all like the LOOT they provide. Finding the odd Rarer container with multiple items is great, and who doesn't like finding a rare Epic weapon, Auto-Miner Cores or other high-tier stuff.

However, regular loot can be useful too, and sometimes has some decent goodies. When raiding a POI, I'll generally ignore regular Cargo Boxes if there are a lot of them, leaving them until later once the POI is mine. This is the problem.

Some POI's - especially those in Scenarios such as Reforged Eden - have some EPIC POI's with LOADS of Cargo Boxes to loot. This process though is PAINFUL to say the least, using the current UI to go through each box at a time. Is there any better way? I don't think so.

Does anyone have any ideas how to better allow us to loot ALL cargo boxes in a POI quickly? Needing linked storage is fine - most of us have a loot mule I imagine - it's just the UI to improve the looting process when there's a lot of cargo to get through.

I wonder if some sort of device could be created? So, we pop down our Core and one of these Devices. We can then point that device at our Loot Mule (SV, HV or CV) and it'd then, over the space of a few minutes, transfer the contents of ALL visible storage to a container - perhaps including Fuel and O2.

What do people reckon? Some quicker way to loot would be awesome, be it via a special device or simply by improvements to the UI.

As much as such a function like a 'loot 'em all'-button would be nice...:NewGrinning:

It would mean that the Game has to know how much space is available in the Connected Cargo(box) AND to decide what to put into it and what not because some Items/devices are to large/to much weight...

If the Connected box is not an actual Dump Box you have to sort it afterwards by picking the loot apart..
I therefore rather loot it one Box after another and, if time and location/situation permits, choose the Box in which the loot should go.

    My 2cts
    Cheers

Maybe if we had the ability to select a group in the Device menu and just tell them to dump their contents into the container at the top of the group (condense); and if items don't fit into the top container, they go into the second container in the group and so on.
Useful for condensing generic loot into one or two containers to offload.

The only way I have found to make this tolerable when I loot a poi is to just loot the actual containers after I've cored the place. Then salvage the containers. I run around doing that for all that I can see easily, then check the (now much smaller) list in logistics (F4). It's still fairly slow, but I find it less tedious than scrolling through a hundred boxes, then scrolling through the SAME hundred boxes again to get to the next, ad nauseum.

It would also help if the contents of those boxes were comparable to other methods of resource acquisition, like mining and trading. Oh look, two large optronic bridges! Big deal. I'm flying a T1 CV hauling hundreds of optronics as trade goods.

I'd suggest it's up to the player to make sure they have enough space. The device would simply stop if there's no space left, requiring the player to select a new output box for example. Or if a big device is encounter and doesn't fit, it skips to the next item that might. That's how it'd work in my head anyway, if such an "Automatic Transfer Device" were possible. Target storage would have to be reachable, i.e. Wifi required - or perhaps built in to the device.

That'd be bloody lovely! I'd certainly be happy with that. I suspect that'd be easier to implement...something to keep you busy over the weekend? ;) Seriously thought, better looting is something Eleon need to implement for the benefit of all.

I've done that, manually loot and salvage the contain so I know it's looted. I still do that with all of the loot barrels, that aren't in the Control Panel of course. I sort of flip/flop between what's tedious, is it the running around or the menu mini-game. I'm actually ignoring certain POI's now due to the sheer amount of cargo boxes they have... I should really just go for the good (barrels) but I'm compelled to loot the whole thing once I start lol.

    I have a different Idea:
The Multitool should have a mode that also takes the content of a container and deconstruct it. (deposit both the content and the container parts into the connected container)

    alternative idea:
A different key for instead of opening the container dump its content to the connected container.

I do the same, grab the box with multitool after i have looted it. for very large poi it lets me know if i have cleared out an area fully. if no loot boxes are present or tools etc..

linked container controllers sure do help out a lot.

I like the mutli-tool idea but I think the simplest way to improve this issue is to have the dropdown go to the currently selected container when clicking it instead of always starting on the first container. It will still be annoying but it would be a huge QOL improvement as it cuts out having to scroll every time once you get past the first few containers.
