For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 4233 Mode: Single Player Mode: Survival SERVER NAME: NA SEED-ID: Any If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Both Reproducibility: Common Severity: Minor Type: CoQ error Summary: Sometimes a CoQ error pops up when starting a new game. Description: Sometimes when starting a new game a CoQ error will pop up before the game has fully loaded. The error can be dismissed and the game seems to run fine after loading. Does not happen when resuming an existing save game. Happens in both default survival mode and a local version of Reforged Eden. Happens very frequently, almost all the time from my experience. The console shows the following error (or a different sun sector if playing a scenario such as Reforged Eden): Code: -ERR- Exception while serializing playfield to file D:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Client/../Saves/Games/NewGame_7/Templates/Ellyon [Sun Right]/playfield.yaml -EXC- System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'D:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\NewGame_7\Templates\Ellyon [Sun Right]\playfield.yaml' because it is being used by another process. I tried searching for an existing report on this and did not find any. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Start a new survival game 2) Watch for the error popup or in the console. 3) Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: Logs attached. Please let me know if you need the save game as well.
This sometimes occurs when I have a text editor open on config files (which didn't used to trigger this issue). When I close the text editor altogether, I get no errors. It does seem to trigger very randomly. This also occurs for Creative SP Games. I have no documented case of it ever happening in MP.
Some things I notice with it: Tends to happen more often when you alt+tab immediately after starting a game. Almost always happens after a CoQ Error and clicking continue. Error will continue every time until you restart the client.
