An alien dwelling power generator. No additional description needed as the functionality is in the name. The top of the structure may not be quite right. The thing is, when I tried it smaller, it seemed too small. So maybe a different shape? Hard to tell and even harder to build with SI. Also, I initially tried it in white, then moved to the neon green because I thought the starker contrast would be interesting next to the plain residential buildings. I may move it back to white. Suggestions welcome. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817306010 Enjoy!
An alien storage facility No explanation needed as the function is in the name. With this build I realized maybe I was being a bit of a hard ass about characterization... so I kept things unified in texture but changed the lighting to a baleful green withing the interior.... it looks pretty cool during the day, but wicked at night... So much so I am going to add some red and eerie green to the other buildings and see what happens. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817861747 Enjoy!
Goddamnit This has me chuckling... They were supposed to represent cool alien technology that is helping to sustain the integrity of the building with all the weight from the alieny stuff they are storing. I suppose I could make the building look more like it is levitating(I had already planned to do this with the fuel storage I am building next) but perhaps a revisit is in order after that.
Here is the collection so far with added green and red lights at night(the power station is especially cool.) The last two images are of all the buildings together. I think it needs 5 - 7 more buildings(ish) including spaceport and fuel station(which is up next.) Spoiler: The lineup so far
Haha, yeah I kind of knew what you were going for, they are glowing, and powered and stuff. But oddly the way the building's "legs" looked, and that shot you did of it... sorry, but, it came to mind lol. Maybe three, or just one, wouldnt be as 'hmm' ... ?
Hey dinkelson, i have a few more buildings to texture for the city; including my akua national spaceport workshop bp that i am overhauling to add to the bunch. Im also designing a couple to add to that theme to create a downtown setting. I think it will give it a real community feel instead of just seeing a couple large structures. I hope the devs like it, I would love to see a few full scale cities. Hopefully i will get a few of the up soon bc i am in the process of deploying overseas as well, so thats why its been taking me so long to edit them. Military and family come first
Be prepared to be wow'd. An alien fuel depot. No additional description needed as the function is in it's name. Kinda fun though, as I was midway through the build, while working with the repulsor spheres(or levitation spheres, or anti-grav, or... whatever, you get the idea,) it occurred to me.... why not make ALL my buildings float on sweet alien anti-grav technology... HOLY ****. Yes, please. I have some work to do. One last thing, the connector pipe between the actual physical point that vessels would pull up to in order to refill and the fuel tank assembly is a giant "L" because I was afraid of SI. I may try to fit a bend in there somehow... In the meantime, do enjoy! Steam link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817932525
Booooooooooooommmmmmmm Jenniphurr arrives on the forums... You can feel the power of the arrival rippling through the forums like a series of great creative tsunamis... Everything just changed for the better.
Very nice lineup! And yes - the symbiosis of tech and alien is much better (a bit too colorfull at times, but this is my personal taste ^^)
Hi all, I was sent a link on steam for this forum so I could share my latest creation, hope you all like it
This topic is really amazing. I am truly impressed by you guys' imagination and ability to visualise it. So may really cool designs and ideas make me wonder how I can possible switch on that creative part of the brain. Really fantastic work, folks! Keep it up.
"Tinker" Load up a new game in "Creative Mode"... and just start throwing blocks all over the place, switch up random shapes... then stand back and look at it. More times then not "something clicks" and you get an idea, and then start to tinker with it, refine, and refine, and then end up with something you can say "I did that!!!"
