Thanks very much Xango! Looking at your "mobs" tab... I didn't see references to some of the "hidden" creatures - Alienbug04, Oviraptor, Spinosaurus, MegalonopsGrey, TurretRobot, and Woodwalker. Not sure if those should be added? Or are they "discontinued"?
Hi all, Thought I would post here to give you all a link to some work I did/am doing on getting some visuals attached to the great work that Vexray and Xango have done here. Hope this is useful to the system-builders out there! @Vexray, @Xango2000 - hope you guys don't mind my building a bit on your hard work. the link is: http://arcnetgaming.com/solarsystemfoundry I've so far got the Deco section up - it was the lion's share of the work in getting pics... I am still working on getting grasses, main textures, etc. up there, but will put them up as soon as they are done. If you see anything wrong, or would like to make comment, please do so here, or on the site linked above.
awesome job.. I know the pain of getting image from the game... love to help you if you want any image...couple of things though 1. mushrooms should be in harvest-able deco object 2. some mushrooms and spike lemon looks different in different planet (not sure about new versions but that used to be the case in older versions) right now bit out of time..will do little more investigating tomorrow
Every bit of this yes! You rock and this saves tons and tons of work for us, having to go through and add something, find out its the wrong thing, and then have to go back and do it over and over is so tedius, Thank you very very much =D
At the risk of founding a mutual admiration society here... lol... my pleasure! It was actually your early work on planet customization that got me interested in it - that in turn led to renting a server, which led to more desire to make custom planets, and so on... we actually named our first custom planet Vexraya as homage to you... it's been up and running smoothly for about a month, and is actually the most popular planet in the solar system! I will have some more stuff up on the site in the next day or two - although much of it is fairly self explanatory (i.e. GrassGreen...) I'm a bit of an OCD-level completionist...
Nice job Jacob! The thought crossed my mind several days ago to start collecting images of all these things, as I'm just starting to customize planets myself. I am glad to see someone has those images already!
First off - @Navonil Mukherjee and @Veronica - thank you for the kind words, apologies my response was somewhat delayed... the update today has brought my server down, and it's been a busy day. That said, in the seemingly interminable gaps of time between contacts with support staff... I did manage to get the Grasses section up on the site, as well as add in the new deco objects that came with today's update. If anyone finds an object id that's not represented, please let me know. Site link is: http://www.arcnetgaming.com/solarsystemfoundry
Hi Maddyn - absolutely... that was "on the list" from the get-go, just been unusually busy in recent days. I will get that up there as soon as I can. Thanks for checking out the site, and for your post!
Here's a guide on what everything in a planet playfield.yaml file does http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=832036944
As far as I can tell, the actual method the sectors file uses hasn't changed in 5.0. What seems to have happened was that the planets were rearranged on the grid and then some additional things were added in the client to make it easier to see what jumps are possible and which ones are not. Other than that, it's a typical X,Y,Z grid and so far it seems to only use 2 axis. There were some minor changes for starting planets and the automatic factioning, but I haven't played with that part of it much and am really not sure how it changes gameplay other than making some public server options a little more co-op friendly.
I don't think its updated anymore as Vexray has left Empyrion, but his planet set will be updated at 6.0 with all new YAML files and the same settings he gave the planets, so they will have all the new features and no bugs. Like weather etc. Look in his planet thread when 6.0 goes live.
Can anyone link to the thread with the visual library of deco, plants and animals? I can't for the life of me find it.
