Looks like it was a false alarm caused by Steam oddities. Apparently scenarios that you upload to the workshop become bugged in more ways than one...
And your planets are a part of that!

I made it to one of the wrecked bases that come with a solar panel and battery, but it wouldn't turn on. Even spawning a new base with a full set...
You need to update your scenario to work in Alpha 9+ by adding the faction tags to all of your playfield POI entries, otherwise it probably won't...
Today I did some testing of my new starter planet. It's hard. Really hard. Plus solar seems bugged and has a negative output. :(

You shouldn't have to do anything with the trader file. I figured out how to include it with a scenario automatically now so no copying needed. :D...
You don't really need any programming knowledge to make scenarios though it helps to be familiar with using syntax, etc. it's mostly editing text...
