I suppose you and your friend have set exactly the same video settings. Otherwise it might makes sense.
I can run with the keyboard shortcut for Run but not the Toggle run. Try to set the controls for run twice for game-pad.
Always run does not work anymore. I have post a bug report also, for keyboard shortcut key.
