a bit nitpicking, but [SPOILER] but for me the last one appeared to be different from the first, and ingame empty ones are always shown as...
these are for the other materials ;-) of course you can remove doubled textures, but then these textures were not possible anymore on that other...
not sure if you really understood (or I didn't, could be too ;-) Metal already has MAX slots occupied == 62. other Materials have a max of 62...
