This is a "Shut up and take my money!!!!!" moment for Empyrion community by far. Seems to be in early testing stages but I could not help myself. I mean really. I watched the part of video countless times. So what are your thoughts? Should it make it to vanilla ?
My lifts are held together by duct tape and prayers, and I ran out of duct tape. I'm sure if they were to properly add lifts to the game it would be a bit more complicated than the way I did it so it's not as simple.
I mean, you can already do this in vanilla with a blast door. The only downsides are that it only reaches two floors, and the longer ones drop faster than you do when you hit the switch. Cool models, though.
Blast Doors automatically retract when they close/open on a player as of around 1.7. Also as of around 1.7 Blast doors sizes go to 13 blocks.
The elevator I made out of a blast door block last night worked just fine. Pushed me right up thirteen blocks from the first floor to the second. Then I dropped like a stone when I hit the top XOR switch and the door retracted faster than I could fall. Caught up with it half way down. Probably broken leg territory. Mind you, when I tried to manually activate the door, it just sat there. So I guess it only still works with signals.
