So, after playing for the past several days, I've come to love the idea of this game, however, I have a few suggestions. Mainly they involve the base, which, when defeated, suddenly becomes unretrievable. I suggest adding the ability to reclaim the base if it falls to another npc faction, as losing it and starting all over from scratch is time consuming, and unless hours and hours are spent building everything back up again, another base can't be built due to the frequency of the npc faction attacks. On top of this, maybe having the pop up for the base being attacked overlaying whatever screen the player is in, so that an attack doesn't slip over the player's ability to react
If the Zirax claim your base, you should be able to get it back from them. You have to go in and destroy the core, and replace it with another one. You can craft a new core in a portable (or public) constructor.
You can place another Builder Core just a bit away from your main base. Put a storage container next to it and fill it with s few weapons, ration packs and other essential stuff. Then destroy the core. The storage container will not be attacked as it has no core. This is then a little survival storage area that you can go to if your base it taken over. I haven't done this yet in my game, but I did do it in a test world, to see if it was possible.
You can also use the attach command and build an outside bunker that is hidden to hold an off switch that is tied to the core. This way you can get back in and shut off the base. Just in case your base wants to fire at you. Then just walk back in kill the core and put your own in again. I tend to tunnel in, building the cutoff on a block in a small cave, that the tunnel opening is beyond the range of my own weapons. Hey it works for me
Careful now, the devs may find this to be an exploit as well and patch it out. I see it as being smart and planning ahead to recover your base from the enemy.
