Finally finished my first 'mega' build! I present: Eve Online's Caldari Wyvern Supercarrier Built at roughly 1/6th scale this replica isn't quite as "super" as the full-sized 3.1km original, but measuring in at 500m x 220m x 70m and boasting quite a few hangars I'm sure it'll be capable of hauling all of your ships around the galaxy in style. Weighing just over 160kt, I used Armored Windows, Doors, and Combat Steel throughout to try and get the weight close to the correct scaled weight. For comparison, the full-sized Wyvern weighs in at a staggering 1,650kt, which means this mini version is still substantially lighter than the 275kt needed to be accurate. Maybe we can make Gold Blocks soon…? 0.o I've crafted all of the "basic" interior spaces one would need - bridge(s), grow decks, etc. - while trying to create interesting spaces, but I don't think interiors are my strong suit. There aren't many cosmetic areas like crew quarters or bathrooms or the like, but there is a TON of open space inside the hull for players to customize to their liking. This is a carrier, not a battleship, which is why there are only a few plasma and minigun turrets mounted to handle stray drones. If you intend to use this behemoth on a PvP/MP server you may want to update the weapons loadout or make sure it's well defended by SVs during combat. yes i hope more defence systems comes into the game the next time. and 23 turrets be very much if you know that 6 miniguns be optimal to get every SV 1hit in pvp and this heavy Dreadnought Classes be more effective enough in pvp. btw UPDATE! its finished *happy* and a small view of cocpit
Aux Torr Here's a giant battle CV built for PVP multiplayer with a huge hanger and lots of room to work with. I've tested this over several engagements and have altered the turret design after each. The turrets are housed in a protective armor for several reasons: -- Gives overhead protection to turret blind spot. -- Prevents* excessive turning by limiting field of view. Often, people will continuously circle or orbit your vessel while popping shots off. Turret placements ensures the turret is defending only 1 direction and not 360. --Each turret has a backup. Ive been curious about turret blinding as a tactic, how does it handle bait and switch, Say 1 person gets tracked by the turret and hides in a blind spot, while second person swoops in and attacks turret?
Thanks, I wasnt sure if los would break tracking or not. I am happy to know it does! I think you just solved how to do orbital bombardments and broadsides.... Heavy bomber cv, all turrets bottom mounted, 90* view straight down, high altitude flyover.
The 2 cut outs next to the bridge on the bottom was built for this but I couldn't find a CV turret that worked on planets. The laser and plasma are not valid objects for blueprints?
Set your filter to base and cross check the cv dot. If it works on both base and cv it should fire in atmosphere.
