Please keep in mind, that the mass of these big ships prevent agil flight properties in terms of rotations. But anyway, congrats to your "Monkey Island Ship"! ;-)
Video Demo of my Hyperion Class Heavy Cruiser and 3 things I noticed you can do with CVs that I haven't seen a lot of other people do: 1) Docking SV to CV with 1 landing gear (save space) 2) Landing/Docking Bay door that closes/opens 3) Gravity Shift on large CV Note: Will post Hyperion Class HC blueprint with ship stats later (will include SV door/fighters).
Hyperion Class Heavy Cruiser (Babylon 5, Earth Force) 1. Included Blueprint for Hyperion Class HC. 2. Door SV 3. Starfury SV 4. LilFury SV Basically the Door SV is the landing bay door (have to destroy some blue blocks fly it in and park it, replace blue block after, if you want a functioning landing bay door). Starfury and LilFury are just 2 variations (not very accurate ones) of a fully functioning SV with landing gear in front meant to dock to docking ports in the middle of Hyperion Class HC (see video above for placement). About Ship: -- Utilizes gravity shift (front section is oriented one way, rear section shifts gravity 90 degrees) -- Has space for landing bay Door SV - Approx 130-140 blocks long - Very maneuverable for its size - Mass: 11.6kt - Idle power for close to 7 hours - Power Consumption 1.34MW idle - Docking bay (4 Starfury + 2 LilFury) and Landing Bay - Bridge/Captains quarters/Landing Bay/Engineering/Storage/Utility Rooms/Crew Barracks/Crew Quarters/Dining Facility/Garden - Rear section is open and unused - Weapons tested, shouldn't take off any sections if you fire front weapons (tested both internal and outside view).
I saw your Furies, they look amazing, but might be too big scale wise for this ship (that's why mine are a lot smaller, albeit much less authentic unfortunately). Edit: Since rear section is mostly empty it might make a spacious docking bay for larger SVs.
Another Capital Vessel i built in survival. Called the A'tuin 7 X Directional thrusters 2 X Large main Thrusters 4 X Slant Main Thrusters 1 X RCS 1 X cockpit 4 X Passenger seats 2 X Large Generators 2 X Large Fuel Tanks 2 X Oxygen Tanks 1 X Medical Station 1 X oxygen station 1 X Gravity Generator 1 X Large Constructor 1 X Food Processor 1 X Fridge 2 X Cargo Boxes 2 X Pulse Lasers 2 X Forward Firing Rocket Launcher 1 X Minigun Turret Just below the Hanger Entrance Large Hanger split into 2 main Bays each with its own entrance Based on recent experiences playing( i decided to see if i could take out the research station with my Cap Vessel, had a friend on turrets but...) i was going to have a second cockpit in the engineering section. But here is the base vessel enjoy NB:- alsoincluded is the one man combat Explorer SV, the Sessna 2500
Here is my attempt at a more practical CV that doesn't suck so much fuel and is much easier to find your way around. I give you the MS-Reign. A lot of the cosmetic stuff can be taken out to save even more fuel if desired. I just like the atmosphere they add to the game.
Thank you, your ships are awesome as well. Actually they are the original hangers from the MS-Titan. I just imported the ship and then deleted all the blocks except the hangers and filled in from there. I wish we could have the forcefield blocks to play with so I could make the openings a tad bigger. Most my current SVs don't fit ha!
Nice one mate, well done, just don´t go around crashing stuff.... I can see already a new trend emerging here….. You know, if you replace the crashed ships on Omicron/Omicron Moon with yours, you can have the same effect, the problem is they are of type BA so you can’t take off with them afterwards….
You know.... That is a great idea! That way they should have the tilt that the orgional crashed ships have. Good call mate. I'm going to try it.
Thank you for your compliments. I'm glad you enjoy it. Not all the ideas are originally mine like the sick bay and the cargo room. I saw someone else do that on their ships and liked it. Anyone is welcome to use my design ideas as well.
Developers already have this but people keep asking for it so here it is. Narn Heavy Cruiser. https://www.dropbox.com/s/76g9x1howh0smed/NARN_Heavy_Cruiser.epb?dl=0
@piddlefoot : thx for sharing mate! Now my narn fighters have a mother Hope you will share your other great creations too Especially the Babylon 5 stuff
Yea when there finished, I will share them, the narn ship in that blueprint the core needs reversing. It has no real interior. The Nestor cant be finished until the grids are extended. Engines don't fit on ! The Destiny has weeks of interior work to do on it still also. I built over 30 B5 vessels in minecraft, about 15 in SE but I think a whole narn fleet, century fleet and some white-stars with the earth force fleet are on the cards for Empyrion when the grids are extended. I enjoy building in Empyrion as much as I did in SE the build system is pretty good in both games, I love the fact I can have the whole fleet in one map in Empyrion, I just cant do that in SE without tremendous lag. What scale do you usually try to scale to ? I aim for 1/3 the original size for games. So there playable.
well, if you like we can work together on the ships in coop mode. I already do this with @Darthvader and his Jedi Cruiser. It's much more fun and give better end results. For fighters I prefer 1:1 scale. For frigates and corvettes, I also use 1:1 scale if they are not longer then 300 m. For each bigger ships, I try what is usable and playable without spending weeks for building interiors Do you mind, if I rework the Narn Cruiser a bit ?
Has anyone else noticed that the cooler the ship looks the more likely it can be one shot'd? I have been working on a practical survival mode CV and in testing my favs from this thread I was surprised at how easy it is to blow them up. I got to admit though it is cool to watch the chain reaction of fuel tanks blasting large sections of the ship apart. Well back to the drawing board, still trying to come up with a design that is well armored, has all the survival basics and have it no look like a brick.
