    I built a HV tank for Jenny's challenge (TubeOR02B), but not tested against the Xeno base. Block size roughly 25x15x45 (WHD). Mostly used armored blocks 200 and 100 (a more cosmetic layer of tubes). Maxed weapons and should take a lot of beating.
    The issue with a large HV build is the the ratio mass and thrust and RCS's, where the current balance is off. RCS's adds mass, so need more thrust, so need more RCS (if to turn). Then some more hovers and boosters, adding mass ...
    It is my first large HV, and probably my last (for now, unless game changes makes it worth). In this game I see hovers as obsolete when you have thrusters and SV, and for large/big then CV. It's the game mechanics that "forces" you to have something to mine efficient with and maybe able to defend itself while looting a POI, in early/mid game.
