Build: 1.9.14. 4139 Mode: Creative, Survival Mode: SP, MP SERVER NAME: - SEED-ID: - If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: - Reproducibility: Almost always Severity: Major Type: Collission physics Summary: When entering a docked SV on a CV, the CV may start dancing, leaving you trapped in your SV. Description: When you enter the cockpit of your SV (reported to also works with HVs) that is docked to a CV and move the mouse, the CV may start dancing out of control. Since you can't leave the cockpit of a moving ship, you are basically trapped in the cockpit of your SV unless: you undock or you detach from cockpit via console(, or in godmode fly). There may be several factors to this, but this happens to basically all players on our server and everyone has experienced it at least once. Things that may affect the reproducabiltiy: * if there is deco below the parked CV (e.g. rocks, fallen trees, etc.) * if the thrusters are on or off on the CV * if the CV is powered Note: this bug has been around for a long time now, probably 1-2 years already - luckily, i managed to find a reproducible case in vanilla creative now. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Spawn a CV (in the video the stock "Ascalon Eclipse VII") 2) Spawn an SV (in the video "VA Fly III") 3) Land the CV on a planet, power it off 4) Dock the SV on the ship, power it off 5) Enter the cockpit and move the mouse. 6) If it does not move * exit cockpit, reload the game and try step 5 again. * probably park the CV somewhere else * probably dock the SV somewhere else on the ship Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: https://imgur.com/a/2ugQc1Q
This has been happening since the game first launched and still isn't fixed in late 2024. Please devs, this is a game breaking issue that affects the fundamentals of one of the most iconic parts of your creation: landing vehicles on mother ships. It turns people away completely; likely why you don't see enough direct complaints. Please understand how important this is.
