    Story

    Since the beginning there were always two main type of styles - the Invader and the Defender.
    What side will you take?

    However in this epic battle a group of some individuals split up to Mercenaries and Traders. Both seeking their honor and profit in a different place.

    What role will you play and support / attack whom?

    Gameplay

    Along the way you will find some special locations, planets and mechanics you are maybe not prepared of. So a little introduction:

    • Every Origin has their special fast way to reach certain point of interests.
    • Defender = Ferrda. A big Planet full of POIs
      Trader = Galactic Trading Station. The Galactic Trading HQ is waiting for epic trades, gifts and missions
      Invader = Golden Phoenix Asteroid Field. An orbit full of Gold and risks.
      Mercenary = Merrex. A very hostile planet with a lot of faction POIs to get the best chance to choose quickly for whom you want to fight for.
    • Origin Orbit Restrictions. Other Origins can't enter other Origin's orbits (the middle PvE ring)
    • Some useful commands as cb:survival to give you a credit boost and cb:reset for a reset (type cb:? to see more commands)
    • Class 7 restriction
    • Offline Protection activated

    Modifications (MODs)

    To boost the experience a bit above vanilla we have implemented some enhancements (modifications) to the overall gameplay.

    Because we have to take care of performance it still has limits - sorry. But due 37 slot size it is set to Class 7.

    No - these servers has nothing to do with HWS at all

    Are there any survival challenges to this server? I don't mean PvP ones, or even vs AI drones, but scarcity of resources such as food, ore and materials? Are there any environmental hazards?

    Thus far I am playing on a survival server which is highly PvE but not involving drones but endless vicious AI beasties running around when night falls. It's a bit like 7 days to die when you have to hoard your resources, make repairs to your shared base at a regular basis and work in teams to gather resources (As the AI monsters aren't possible to take on alone). Much of the time we have drop ships ready to pick up mining teams once night falls and people on sentry at home bases on turrets.

    Does the server offer gameplay like that nature or is it competitive PvP in nature and not PvE?

    Edit: Also what is the starting contents of your escape pod and are the food and resources scarce?

    It's Xzystance's server. It's loads of fun. He really "gets" the survival aspect of the game, plus you don't have to worry about random people griefing you. You work as a team just to survive the hostile environment. It's fun to call in an air strike to help a new player who just joined that got swamped by an AI horde. Either you quickly build a shelter off the bat or call for help and dig a deeeep hole while you wait for an above ground missile bombardment, followed by a drop ship of player marines to fly you to the nearest safe zone.

    If you wish to join, just send him a message on steam. He accepts people by invite only as far as I know.

    Very interesting, I hope this server turns into a great PvP sandbox. Though HWS is still great so not quite sure how this server fits in with the future plans for HWS. Hoping for the best! Keep up the great work.

    Class 7 is away bigger than HWS. HWS only allow Class 4 now via new restrictions . So class 7 is ok for a official Empyrion server in my opinion.

    So you are planning on makeing this game another PvP MMO right? How dissapointing. :(

    PS As much as I might like the MMO concept in reality I hate the fact that griefiers tend to destroy the fun.Also I do not want to have another job and many MMOs have become like this. I just want to have fun and not makeing other player's life misserable, thank you.

    So this is gradually replace singleplayer game mode in a long term?
    Or is Singleplayer going to be only for "story" gameplay and the new official servers for freeform gameplay?

    I'm not quite sure how official it is? It's not designed by Eleon, as far as I know. TBH I *think* it Eleon just decided to sponsor a fan's server if I am reading this correctly, because the following seems hazy:

    "However these two servers are not the default universe setup (vanilla) but instead created by me with some additions as a story, custom made planets and gameplay options."

    I'd assume the default "Vanilla" universe was created by Eleon and still stands as the standard to which all else is measured.

    If I am reading this wrong however, this could be very bad IMHO if this is Eleon's work and they have designated a fan to run their game universe for them. This could lead to all sorts of favoritism and abuse if the staff isn't Eleon's. Also if this is the case, it *could* mean the studio is gearing up for a beta release soon, which I think is waaaay too early to do so. With the lack of survival elements that were promised to be delivered, they could lose a majority of their loyal player base.

    This is only a wild assumption, so let's not jump the gun or anything. I hope this can be better clarified by the developers and what it means as a whole to the game's future (if anything).

    Yes there are as mentioned in the first post. Some POIs can't be taken out alone - only as a team and the difficulty in general will suit the survival aspect a lot. But what for someone is "hard" or a "survival aspect" is for others not.

    No, this is a multiplayer server which means you are mostly playing with others together or against. If you don't like it that is why Singleplayer exist. I don't think Empyrion / any Multiplayer server can be called MMO, not yet but again, some like it, some not. But gladly there is always an alternative for you within the game.

    @mR_kAt to clarify it a bit: I am not a "sponsor" or a "fan". I am working officially together with Eleon and helping them with the game in some aspects.

    The reason why it is not Vanilla is to create an alternative gameplay and showing the possibilities there are beyond that. Call it inspiration for other servers or just a fresh view to the game for new people (and returners).
    I did my best to balance it especially for beginners but also for some veterans. The setup is maybe not everyones taste but neither is the vanilla setup.

    So it isn't that I randomly did this - it is a cooperation with the staff and a project we are looking at it. Therefore there is a Feedback topic, therefore it is alpha where we can still polish the game even more.

    But yeah, some wild assumptions there and maybe even today you get an official official announcement regarding all of this ;)

    Rexxus you should add the HWS 4.x Alien Planet with the pentagram of alien bases with 250 turrets :)

    Oh well I hope you have the POIs with the invincible steel at least.
