Enemy spawing pads in POIs have the negative effect of quicky overpopulating a small area with many enemies, all this at very few distance from the player, that's not very fun to play against, there is some surprise factor after which the player will quickly retreat and use its grenade launchers. There can be better alternatives to spawning pads, but to start with: Make the individual enemy spawning points very further away around the pad and random, I think this will give better unpredictable results for the player - and thus it's more challenging.
Good idea for spaces that are open but not for something that is inside buildings. We had problems with enemies spawning behind walls in the past and then attacking you when you walk past.
A good compromise would be making them still spawn on the spawn pad but have the pads be able to be activated from a further range from the player. The extremely short ranges that everything "pops in" around the player is a huge turnoff in this game. Wild critters that often times don't spawn in until AFTER you have already ran past their spawn point is a very good example of how terrible this effect is in this game. Don't even get me started on things like lights and how they don't even work after such short ranges (around 50 meters). This kind of stuff is frankly a little ridiculous. They should find better ways of "optimizing" their game...... Playing on over recommended spec hardware too, so that's not the problem.
I'm also for the range increase because at the current range you're pretty limited on open space builds, except having them pop into existance right in front of you is what you want.
