I originally posted this in another forum thread, but someone kindly directed me here. I thought this was just the most amazing, cool sight, and had to take a screenshot (how to make the image appear is escaping me, so here's the link): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1409450442 ... picture of a lava-style moon rising (or setting?) over a (temperate) planet. ... so perhaps other people won't think it's cool, but I thought it was just stunning, and had to share... (sometimes, you just gotta stop and enjoy the view....)
We have a lot of fun on our server. Sometimes we also do a joke. The player was briefly absent. When she was back, she screamed almost as loud as the Raptor ...
@ Damonicus....Is this the Sentinel Twin Tower? BAs are not allowed floating yet. Must be set as POI, right?
One downside is you cand add or remove or rotate any block on it as si will collapse it all ( not sure but seems like si off command on server dont affect si at all. What i did was using drill t2 with fill mode i made tall column then placed ba core from then you can build it out or do the magic trick ( same as converting ba to cv ) which is literally copy and paste files from one id to another
Brilliant. So practically you trick the game to "float" a BA. About the SI though, you use SI off and what does the console responds? As you said after whatever the response is SI still acts like it is on. Maybe you should fill a bug report.
i heard you cant disable SI on dedicated server. when i use SI off in console it says that Si is off but it isnt in game actually so yeah seems to me that on dedi you cant disable it but floating base works just need to be sure there is enough ammo in turrets so drones wont collapse it lol
Well if regeneration is off, take out the drone base first. Problem solved. That's what I do first time I land on planet. This and the PV of course. Since Alpha EXPERIMENTAL 8.0 - Part IV there is an ability to turn SI off in the playfield_static.yaml. "....Added possibility to switch off Structural Integrity via yaml: You can now create floating bases by adding a new parameter to the PROPERTIES section of a POI. Have a look into the playfield_static.yaml in this folder for the full syntax: ..\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Playfields\TemperateStarter....."
Ah, victory. I took my new T4-Menace on a POI killing spree, and to start off I obliterated the OPV that gave my Husk so much trouble. The wedge shape really allows the guns to be as effective as can be, and I only lost 4 of them in the battle! After this I killed some more POI without repairing in between, and it performed bueatifully.
