Hi, erm.. is anyone still reading this? For some reason, I'm not so sure. But anyway, here's some critical feedback that I have encountered. Some of the issues are quite frustrating. Some, well, not very hard to fix. I'll just post the list I made here. They have screenshots which I took in 'Steam'. - 3rd person glitches: the character orientation does not respond correctly to the crosshair/camera direction. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702968384 - If window tinting could be done with the texture tool, then we won't have problems such as this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702972661 - I really can't see what I am doing here.. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702967650 - The XP rate really needs stretching out to be longer. In the case of the following image, instead of getting 45 XP, I should really get 2 or 5 XP, particularly for just mining/gathering. Maybe 5 or 6 XP for killing/hunting. I maxed my level AND the tech tree in less than 2 hours. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702966716 - We can see what the issue is here; To have a constant water table across the whole surface would mean encountering water at a certain depth. Maybe that isn't such a bad idea? But so as to help isolate water to local areas, I can understand why this has had to be the case. Unfortunately, when working next to water, as in the case of mining this Iron deposit, here, the glitches can be a little off-putting but not game-breaking at least. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702967234 - In my humble opinion, the planets are just too small. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=700251874 Okay, that's just a collection of critical feedback. Can I just say, however, that even though it's still in development, I'm having so much fun in this game, I absolutely love it! The new updates look very interesting. This game has come along in leaps and bounds, my God, Eleon, take a rest for a while! You guys have been so busy, Thank you so much for your co-operation with our feedback. But honestly, the true gamers of this game won't mind waiting a bit if you need to take some time with things. By the way: Please don't worry about sales, target demographic etc etc.. we don't want this game to be a dumbed down product aimed at 10-15 yr old casual Console players. For God's sake don't do that....
I strongly suspect the possibility this is for enabling easier testing of end game during the Alpha & eventually will be Re-Balanced when it comes time for that... maybe in Beta. Agreed. Learn how to plan ahead & think your way through problems or bleed profusely little Ragamuffins.
Feedback in form of a question: Why don't you care about your players? I've never seen an employee respond to any bug submission or contribute to any debate on the steam discussions board, and while your trolls are active, they're not effective. I've had a servicebreakimg issue, that I posted half a year ago, still not being resolved. And most of the other issues I've seen with hosting servers are still current. Like a core being at 100% use even when nobody is logged in, and players being stuck in dead situations perpetually. To repeat my intro. I haven't seen you guys even acknowledging you read anything. Just the fact I had to go here to post is worrying. That's looks like a roadbump put in place specifically to avoid customers.
Annoyance today: - nearly died 2 times because of splash damage which went through the cockpit. - Why do i have it when it doesnt protect me? - Killing 1 dino resultet in a horde attack of multiple dinos, a talon, silme - literally every living thing inside a certain radius - wtf?! - Due to the patches the server got 2 wipes in a row. The admins are nice and try to replace blueprints but cant you support them with a propper tool like a bank account wher server veterans can pick up some res/tech/finished blueprint after the wipe. Also set the damn xp level to 20 or remove the retarded levelrestrictions! Its like you guys go back to university and have to listen to a course about programming before you are allowed to do smth. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hummel isn't an employee unless something's changed. Last time I checked, he was a freelance dude they just contracted. Besides - he and one other, less offensive, guy are the trolls I mentioned above. Steam calls them moderators. By employee I mean someone signed on by the company, not a third party contractor with no stakes in the outcome. I was once told that three employees exist, but I've yet to see one of them post anything on steam.
Ahh, so ya meant more like this... With that said, imho they could use a PR peep on their Team... like a Empyrion equivalent of Starbound's Mollygos.
I care about the steam forums. Its where I go to drop troll bombs and run. So fun... filled with the worst sort, so thats where I can join in on the fun of being a complete jerk as its 'acceptable'.
I have tried a few times to get a meet the Devs going. Hummel even said he was thinking about doing one. That was like three months ago. Most of the other popular games are doing this. I some times wonder if the devs work at a game studio and work on Empyrion in the evening. Moonlighting?
People should care, because that is the place the CUSTOMERS are. And the tone in the forums is largely up to the people participating in it. In any event, I find the forums mostly helpful. Not the one for Empyrion though. While the using it are fine, they can't really help solve issues.
I would love to be able to use my 2nd monitor with Empyrion. I understand this could be quite a feat to achieve, so I'm not meaning actual fps gameplay, I was thinking more of displaying the MAP of the current playfield you are on.
Don't think it would work as the game is now. If you are flying along and hit the Map key. All control to your ship is lost.
Window tint can be flipped to either side with the Change and Rotate tool, point it at the window and left click. You may have already realized this but I figured I would specify anyway, since I have seen some posts recently where folks had no idea about it.
Hi there - what I was meaning by having a 2nd screen map windows, was exactly for this reason - you wouldn't need to fly along and hit the "m" key, because the map window would be on your other screen automatically, real time, as you're flying ...
