HeKaTon Hover Raceway POI does not spawn

    Type: Mission POI not spawning

    Summary: During an attempt to complete a UCH task for Lamarr on Arkenia Prime, the POI for the HeKaTon Hover Raceway mission does not spawn. Using the designated teleporter labeled "Teleporter@HeKaTon Hover Raceway" creates a perpetual loading screen, which then requires a full game restart.

    Reloading the affected save spawns me at a random place on the moon. The POI not spawning appears to also apply when I flew my small vessel manually to land on the moon. Using the "playfield" command to reload the moon does not fix the issue, and using the "find" command to locate the POI returns a "None Found" response. I also used the "find" command on Arkenia Prime as a test.

    Description: A mission related POI does not spawn, and a teleporter object for that mission does not work properly. The mission does not allow manual completion through F1 tab or through console commands. Upon testing this only appears to happen with the Hovberbike Raceway mission chain, as the other task in the Ashon system registers as completed properly when speaking to Lamarr after completion.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Complete all five chapters of Operation Phoenix: New Terra
    2) Speak to Lamarr to initiate a task to visit Arkenia Prime
    3) Travel to Arkenia Prime and approach the Capital
    4) Speak to the Foreign Minister in the Capital, then visit the Hurzz Hoverbikes building and talk to NPC to register for the race qualifiers.
    5) Either use the designated teleporter linked to "Teleporter@HeKaTon Hover Raceway" or manually travel to the Arkenia Prime Moon using a small vessel.

    The PDA would also like to know where this POI is.

    There is no "HekatonHVRaceway" EPB file in the Content\Prefabs folder. There are six checkpoints and two pit lane EPB files. File verification didn't help.

    I am afraid i cannot reproduce that, so lets see with the following questions. Maybe it is an edge case:

    Question: did you start this savegame BEFORE the 1.12 official realease? Maybe in EXP phase? In this case the POI could simply be missing or only partially added (Depending when you started the savegame)

    If not, means. you did start with 12.1 official or 12.0 official release) >

    A. Please go to Hurzz hoverbikes and check what the Teleport-target displays? (See screenshot)

    B. Can you go the Arkenia Prime Moon and..
    1. execute "stats" and screenshot the information that you get
    2. execute "ents -all" and see if there is

    Nothing very interesting.

    I waited a few minutes to see if the teleport was being delayed by the playfield just taking its sweet time to load before eventually hitting Alt-F4. Restarting and loading the save again left me in the wilds of the moon's surface.

    I GM'd from the surface and through the sector and to my ship on Arkenia Prime before flying back to orbit. I had a mind to consult the Help command, maybe try resetting the moon playfield, but decided to just fly to the moon and look around instead. I opened up the console once I arrived to see what it had to say, resulting in that screenshot.


    I'm inclined to play through it again in a fresh Default Random save, and take my ship on the initial visit to the moon rather than using the teleporter. Hopefully I'll remember to make a backup to play copies from before warping to the sector and poking at things.

    I just tested this and the teleporter worked for me and the POI was spawned on the moon (using a new survival game started using the current public branch of the game).

    The blueprint for the POI on the moon is: BA_HekatonHVRacePitLane_NoInst.epb. I have that one in my prefabs folder.

    When I started the save I was using 1.12.1 patch 4742. Both the original save and a second one I created for testing use the same build. The second save has two backups, including one I created before I return to the game for the Arkenia Prime visit mission from Lamarr.

    I did find another potential issue with the Arkenia Prime visit followup task after Operation Phoenix: New Terra mission chain, I'll need to do a bit more testing to see if it's something I'll need to make a report for.


    This is the build I'm currently running my original save and a second one I made to further test this issue.

    None of the Hekaton BAs were present at all. No POI on the whole moon even had a teleporter. I dunno if the moon generated incorrectly, or I was sent to the wrong instance of it, or some other thing.

    Yeah looking at your console log you posted above, the POI generation was different from mine which shouldn't happen because the playfield uses a fixed seed and therefor will have the exact same POIs every time.
    Actually looking at the playfield files it isn't even just using a fixed seed but also using a prebuilt playfield.yaml file.

    Did you try validating files in Steam and then starting a new save by new game > survival in the main menu and teleporting to the moon then?

    Update to the testing: I did file integrity verification on steam, then started a new save with same version. After loading in i went straight to arkenia prime to test, this time the teleporter worked.

    I did not complete any other missions, just spawned in my capital vessel and a small vessel I had built to warp to arkenia prime, then traveled directly to the arkenia prime system.

    This is on version 1.12.1 patch 4742, identical build as the last two saves.

    EDIT: It appears that if i exit the save and re-open it the qualifying race segment repeats the original teleporter loading screen issue on arkenia prime. verifying file integrity did not fix the issue.

    If you could try the following, because I have a suspicion:
    Go back to the teleporter on the planet, use console command gm iv to go into godmode invisible, look at the teleporter and interact with it.
    It should pop up a window with a long string. Add exactly this to the very end of the text that is already in the window, with no spaces or anything extra:
    @Arkenia

    Now leave godmode invisible by pressing the G key on your keyboard (default) OR by using the console command gm walk, and try the teleporter again, relogging, etc to see if that fixed it.

    For some reason I got it in my head that you needed the star name if you were also including the playfield name, but I may be completely wrong about this so consider this a shot in the dark from a fellow player.

    I did a verification just before starting the save earlier this month that found no issues. Same result from on earlier this week. I think I'm just going to delete the entire Content folder and verify again to force it to redownload all ten gigs of it fresh. There were some other issues as well I want to see if are reproducible or not.

    I know it shouldn't matter, but I never tried or installed the December 11 experimental 1.12 build. I just got the standard March 25 and April 3 updates for 1.21 and 1.21.1 respectively.

    I deleted the Content folder and did integrity verification to reload the entire folder, then used one of the backups of my last save to visit Arkenia Prime. After repeating the steps of the one successful attempt to access the raceway POI, I encountered the original teleporter issue, loading screen loop and all.

    EDIT: I have another issue I have been testing and it appears I will need to file a separate report for that one. Same build and everything.

    I was unable to track down what caused the problem after multiple attempts.
