Hey so hot spices are delicious FYI, if you can get past the pain. I for one, am an expert in this regard and love the health benefits of casupackasin or whatever and have had many excellent runs as a spice-man.

But now I layed off the spices for a long time and am trying to get back into the game.

Any pointers about how to get back up to legendary status of spiceability?

    My faves:
    Cayenne powder
    Whole dried red chilis
    Chipotle chilis
    Pickled Jalapeno
    Habanero sauces from whole habaneros

For the record, my guts hurt.

    Germanicus likes this.
  2. Just keep eating them. That's about it.

Capsaicin (the thing responsible for the "heat") can have a tolerance built up to it. The more you eat and the more often you eat the higher your tolerance will become.
Soon enough you will be eating ever hotter and hotter chili's and extracts in search of that long forgotten burning sensation.

Seriously. I have loved all things spicy since I was at a very young age. I now use some of the hottest peppers/chilis in the world as if they were mere salt and pepper on a dish.
If I want a serious burn these days I have to go to some man made extracts and sauces. Mere dried and ground chilis don't cut the mustard much anymore.
