Jump off the bike via F while climbing a hill It will continue forward and, in some case, come to rest buried deep. It's very easy to lose the hoverbike when this happens, the workaround is to move away so you can set a waypoint to find out where it's hiding. The one in the snow took 4 hot beverages to locate...
Honestly I'm not sure this is a bug, or rather I wish it would be fixed to be a feature tbh. If I run a hoverbike straight into a mountainside I kinda expect it to be buried in terrain a bit. The only thing I would not want is for it to become 100% immersed in terrain where I have no idea where it is (would be cool if it make a small divot into the ground). Remember, so long as you can see the bike with your cursor, you can just pick it up and replace it.
