    Not for 10.6 but the scenario should be compatible. You just might not get any of the new POIs but everything else should work fine.

    Once 10.6 goes live I'll release my update which just adds a custom PDA and some random tweaks mostly.

    Could this type of POLARIS Trader be one day ...after 10.6 goes public...a Trader for those Bits and Bobs to build the new CPU Extensions?

    You mean one that leads you to cpu extenders? Yeah that's a good idea. I'm adding a custom PDA too so I can make actual missions.

    Just "free'd" a Pol-Trader from a Raider Outpost in Space. I do hope one day such actions will reflect towards your standing with the Polaris:D.

    The Trader seemed to have been added but somehow the Admin/Creative side was still visible. An oversight or a bug?

    I think that's intended. If you take over a POI you have access to the control panel of all devices and there's no distinction between creative and normal mode. You can do the same things with spawners.

    But changing those values shouldn't do anything.

    Need some server help. Not sure it is related to this mod in any way only that for some reason the server we have been playing this on will not update to 10.5.1

    My second server went smoothly and is running the vanilla game at this moment without issue. I have tried multiple attempts and have verified files and such and the server runs, but just on 10.5.0.

    Is there something I should be looking for or does the mod need an update / code change for the latest update? I doubt its the mod but looking for any ideas or if anyone else running this mod is having the same experience since 10.5.1.

    It wouldn't be the scenario because the save and scenario folder has nothing to do with the server itself.

    I assumed such. Might just transfer it to the updated server and see what happens. First time I've encountered this. Wanted to work on my resort I've been modifying. Tourists are gonna be upset lol... :rolleyes:

    I do hope we don't have to buy things from Traders to gain certain tech in vanilla. I much prefer to craft stuff myself, or perhaps loot it from a POI, but just going and buying stuff feels a bit cheap lol.

    I must admit, I'm more for Survival as it was before we could simply buy stuff, progressing and gaining tech on my own. When the original Civilian POI's were introduced and made the early-game a breeze, I actually modded them out - and the free starter bases. Much more fun! lol. Really glad civilian POI's were revisited and changed, though still not a fan of the Starter Base.

    This is why different starting scenarios are so very important. Project Eden has highlighted the extremes that a player start can go to and vanilla needs to take some lessons from that. I still miss the old Snowy planet start, one of my favourites.

    Not quite with it tonight...not sure if it's 01:00 because it's not as late as I thought, or because the clocks have already changed lol.

    You can loot them from rare and ultra rare POIs or buy them from the new trader in the starter orbit.
    I'll be finding ways to add more ways of obtaining them as well (missions, custom loot, etc).

    Roadmap - Goals for Alpha 10.6, Solar Systems, and beyond

    All information here is subject to change. These are things that I plan on adding, but there is no guarantee I'll actually get them in. Everything should be considered a tentative work in progress.


    This will be a long-ish post and I apologize for that. :D A TLDR is at the bottom.

    The past 2 months I was dealing with a medical issue that hampered my creativity, so a lot of my plans are now 2 months behind schedule. I'm feeling better now and ready to be creative again, so I'm going to be working hard on the next update for the scenario! I just want to thank everyone for their support, comments, videos, and feedback.

    Alpha 10.6
    I will be releasing an update for the scenario to bring it up to date when Alpha 10.6 goes live. Any new default POIs and traders will be added to the scenario, including the new trader for the CPU extender components.


    The following will be added for alpha 10.6:
    Custom PDA
    A new custom PDA will be added to the scenario. All of the default missions and tutorials will still be available (assuming you're on the right planet), the Project Eden missions will simply be added underneath them.
    Right now only a few missions will be added.

    - New Project Eden sections in the Empyriopedia will include information on the scenario, including frequently asked questions, where to find resources, information on activities such as trading and hacking, etc.
    - A few basic introductory storyline missions will be added. These are more of a test/placeholder for now, awaiting more development of the scenario and base game mechanics. They should provide some basic direction.
    - New repeatable missions.
    - Some planet specific missions that only show up while you are on that planet.
    - Some missions that become available after visiting certain traders or POIs.

    CPU Implementation
    Updating the scenario for the upcoming CPU system by adding the new CPU extender crafting components or whole devices to some of the traders, custom loot, and mission rewards.

    Various fixes and tweaks
    A lot of minor tweaks will be made to fix issues with playfield descriptions, POIs, LCd signs, door lock codes, etc. Many of these I noticed from watching YouTubers play the scenario, so I want to give a special thanks to everyone who is making Let's Play videos of this! You help make the scenario better. Hopefully this makes some of the puzzles a little clearer without giving away too much.


    The following will be added for alpha 11 or beyond:
    Multiple Solar Systems
    We know from developer Q&As that multiple solar systems are planned eventually. I don't know how they will work or be configured, but I imagine it will require a significant rework of the solar system config file for the scenario.

    Once solar systems become available I will work on updating the entire scenario to use the new system and generate a randomized galaxy.
    This should also help a lot with the whole crowded and confusing sector map that the current scenario has. Unfortunately there's not much more I can do about that until solar systems are added, but once they are it should become much easier to navigate the scenario.


    Story and Missions
    Since going from a single solar system to a "galaxy" will need a re-write of much of the lore and missions in the scenario, I will be holding off on developing most of the main story until solar systems are added.

    While the scenario will always be focused on open ended exploration, right now there is a lack of distinct goals for people to go for. The scenario has a lot of different things to find but lacks depth. I'll be adding in the main story and PDA missions to support the main story, as well as side missions and random encounters to find out in the galaxy. While not everyone likes having a pre-determined "goal" in the game, the story and missions should help give people a goal if they want it.

    Tentative storylines:
    - Find out why the Abyssal Zirax hate Humans so much and foil their mysterious plans.
    - Find out the origin of the Infection that is spreading through Eden.
    - Discover what the Rogue Drones are doing.
    - Expose a conspiracy in the Terran ranks that reaches to the very top.
    - These stories will be interconnected and eventually lead you to opening the Empyrion shrines and discovering the secrets that Eden holds.

    Progression
    Right now there's only so much I can do to alter the pace of progression. Most of this is really just waiting on changes to the game itself. Once the game has a progression update, I will update the scenario for it.

    Other Additions
    These additions have no specific time tables and will mostly be done when I have the time and feel creative.

    - New asteroid fields. I'll be adding various types of asteroid fields such as pirate hideouts or rogue drone infested asteroid fields. Resource asteroids will be easier to find in them but it will be more dangerous. Should add a lot more variety, challenge, and excitement to visiting asteroid fields. The goal is to make them full of new content instead of the mostly empty places they currently are.
    - New planets and moons. I still have ideas for a lot more!
    - More planet and moon variations. These won't be completely brand new planets, but instead variations of already existing templates with changes in POIs and terrain. The goal is to have something unique to find on each variation, but they won't necessarily have entire custom POI sets.

    - New starter planets.
    Beginner Temperate: A super easy planet with more resources, less enemies, and no drone attacks. Meant as a safe-ish planet for new players or those wanting a more casual experience.
    Desert: A medium difficulty trading based "Mad Max" style planet with Junkers as a friendly trading faction and bandits as an enemy. Collect or raid for loot and gold to sell, buy raw materials or devices, and work your way up the ranks of the Junkers to become "Junkmaster" (wip title) and leave the planet.
    Nightmare: A very hard or ultra difficulty planet. What once was a lush Temperate planet is being converted into a hellish mutated alien jungle by the Zirax. Escape from a Zirax lab before they can turn you into a science experiment and fight off both the Zirax and the extremely hostile mutated wildlife as you struggle just to stay alive in a misty and dangerous environment.
    Asteroid Field: An ultra-difficulty space start. Scavenge scattered supplies from destroyed ships to stay alive and repair or build yourself a warp capable SV. You are not alone here, however, and you will have to fight off Zirax survivors to get the best loot.

    - More orbital POIs such as wrecks, pirate outposts, and events.

    Probably a lot more stuff I'll come up with. :D

    TLDR:
    Alpha 10.6: New custom PDA, CPU integration, and various fixes to playfields and POIs.
    Alpha 11 and beyond: Solar systems, story, missions, planets, moons, asteroid fields, starter planets, and progression changes.

    I hope that with future Alpha 11 and 'multi star system map' @EleonGameStudios is adding some sort of Pirate/Outlaw "mixed-race" (made from current races we have in game) separate faction that could be put randomly in parts of the universe map with their ships, outposts, space stations - so that you still have dangers on your long road, but you can keep your story compact and to the point(s). That would be THE BEST filler for any story/scenario and in the same time the cheapest (same 3D models with just different detailing colors & unique weapons) - having to use just official 'zirax empire' and 'polaris trade corp.' for filling new star systems and sectors will totally water down things.
    Having independent 'Bands of Space Brothers' roaming around and/or lurking in the shadows could spice things up a lot. Also finally getting funcional different Clans @ Zirax & Companies/Guilds @ Polaris/Traders have to be in Alpha 11 :D

    (adding totally new Race/Origin/Faction with new 3D models, rules, lore and behaviors for A11 is different and much more complex thing, and it is a completely separate topic, so I'm not touching that here)

    They do seem to plan a pirate faction since they added those new orbital smuggler POIs. For now I'm using a mix of zirax and civilian NPCs and listing them under the Zirax faction for some of my pirate outposts. I hope we get the ability to add custom factions.

    You're crazy! Crazy I tell you!
    I actually started to make it in alpha 8 and it was already pretty creepy. I set it up to have thick mist in the low lying areas and at night it would get really creepy because you couldn't see very far due to the fog, but the ground near you was lit up with ambient red lighting. Gave a real horror movie vibe.
    Hopefully I can pull off something very creepy and dangerous. :D

    We shouldn't have talked about this openly...I forgot that @Hummel-o-War reads it all:rolleyes:. Now OUR Idea is in HIS Proposal :eek: how you get to the T3 and T4 parts and it looks as if HE came up with he plano_O.´(joking;))

    @ravien_ff - is it possible to play exp.10.6 with fresh new Eden start?
    ...will this new traders with special parts be in game?

    (my guess is that we have them in 'vanilla' part of scenario)
