I been learning to die in starts on the Hard Jungle planet (hard setting - no constructor or heater/cooler) - 12 Experimental (no problems so far). What a blast. Makes the swamp planet look like a kiddies' wading pool. Hard Jungle is the most viscious scenario I've ever played. Well done @ravien_ff .

Every start I died multiple times before managing to get the simplest hover up and running (and it was open cockpit and didn't provide heat protection). On one start, a wood walker got me just five mins in-game when I was just a couple of metres from the crash shuttle (never even saw him till he hit me), on another a blue spitty spider guarding an iron deposit one-shotted me (vegetation was too thick to see him), on another up to a dozen raptors guarding a copper deposit tore me to shreds, on another start multiple groups of spiders came barelling down my sneaky 60 m tunnel to a copper deposit (because a dozen raptors were guarding the deposit).

Also on every start I died multiple times from heat stroke.

No starts had resource rocks in the splash down zone. I tried hitting nearby resources deposits but they were all ambush sites. I tried tunnelling from further out to get to the deposits but died from heat exposure. I tried just going for just the iron deposit - to at least get a constructor going, and melt down basic rock for silicon and copper. I got the iron by tunnelling under the blue spitty spider, but the exercise of gathering rock was next to impossible - venturing more than 30 metres into the thicket got me killed by the above-mentioned creatures. BTW, there are no clearings in the landing zone. So I drilled down to the rock layer and mined that but died every couple of minutes from heat stroke.

It didn't seem like it was possible to do it without dying. Well, I finally did it.

I finally found a way to survive without a single death (it's repeatable, not luck, and no, I'm not telling). It's a strategy I believe ravien deliberately allowed for and if he didn't I'm not giving him the opportunity to close it off.

Even after I'd got to level five and had an open-cockpit hover, I had a frenetic period of struggling to survive - massive creature killing (yes, I had a shot-gun by that stage) and dancing in and out from protection of the heater/cooler to try to maintain food levels (heat stress was starving me in a couple of minutes - a little OP I think). I had to kill 30 or so creatures with a shottie and the whole time I was seconds away from starving or heat stroke. Kill count was roughly 64 just after I got to level 7 (all by shottie, till level 3 I was running away), and I've just got 20 steaks left, so I was really chowing down. This lasted for two full days, something I've never seen in other scenarious. Eventually, I got to level 7 and got a flyer and the fun stopped... well I guess there are other worlds in Project Eden.

Has anyone else beaten the Hard Jungle planet? I dare you to try.

If you've beaten Hard Jungle, I'd like to hear how you did it, if it doesn't give the game away that is.

Glad you had fun and found it a challenge!

I beat it EASILY. Actually just got really lucky with seed but I certainly got a kind of 'commando' vibe from it more in line with traditional survival games. Good stuff I hope it Ravien can give it it's own custom mission sometime like the prison ones.

    Updated for Phase 5!
Remember to get the new changes you have to exit the game, restart Steam, and then start a NEW save game. A new game is only required if you want the new content.

All planets should now work on dedicated servers, please let me know if you still have problems!

Check the change log for details.

Update for phase 5 of Alpha 12 Experimental:
You must restart Steam and start a new save game to get any new or updated content.

    Dedicated servers:
    - There is now a strict game limit of 300 POIs on a planetary or moon playfield for dedicated servers.
Adjusted the Dead and Dead2 starting planets to reduce number of POIs. Also adjusted Dead, Plasma, and Black Desert class planets to reduce POI count.
This should allow all planets to work on dedicated servers again. Please let me know if a particular planet class does not work on a dedicated server after repeated attempts to enter it (please tell me the planet type, not the name).
Orbits still have a high number of POIs, please let me know if they cause trouble too.
Unfortunately this does affect the look and number of POIs on some of the planets but this is unavoidable to keep them compatible with dedicated servers.
EAH was updated. Make sure the latest version was installed on your server. This should fix the "too many structures" warnings on orbital playfields.

    - Adapted scenario for all changes in Phase 5 to match default game (PDA, playfields, etc).

    - Adjusted galaxy and solar system configs. Added more star regions and fixed sectors and improved shape of the galaxy.
    - Added new mid/end game galaxy-wide exploration mission. Can be done solo, group, or as a server. Somewhat hidden, you have to follow clues to figure it out. (doesn't use PDA)
    - Added new star cluster named Decay with 2 new custom planet types.
    - Made Object 82 and the other objects unique POIs. Lead Researchers on UCH Research Vessels can point you in the right direction.
    - Added Titanium deposits to Rogue and Dark Rogue starting moons (replacing Sathium).
    - Tweaked random sites, removed "empty" combat, exploration, and mining sites and reduced number of sites found in solar systems. (More random sites will be added)
    - Added more ice fields to some stars.
    - Removed most unneccesary star/nebula info from space playfield files.

    - Added more medical equipment to the Crashed Prison Transport on the Rogue and Dark Rogue starts and reduced the level of the enemies. The game start became a lot harder in A12 so this is just rebalancing it. (it's still very hard to escape on hard difficulty).

    - Fixed teleporters in the Pentaxid Mining Facility.
    - Added new small unguarded and guarded Pentaxid asteroids to most orbits. Will be faster to mine than the old ones and contains a lot more rock so they are more likely to regenerate on servers. Old ones can still be found occasionally.
    - Added PentaCorp stations to some Barren Moons (rare chance, more often in trader territory). Added Station Warp Fuel to Pentacorp stations.
    - Added Trader and Kriel POIs to some planets. Kriel only in their territory. Traders mostly in their territory and rarely outside it.

    - Tweaked dialog and token descriptions. (All Project Eden story mission objectives can be completed even if you "skip" over them or lose them by either going back to the original source or marking the objective complete in the PDA.)
    - Fixed more MapDistance/HudDistance on planetary and space POIs. Alien wrecks should no longer show up on the scanner at all.
    - Various other tweaks and fixes.

The Changes are massive and I strongly recommend to start a NEW GAME, not just a "new-saved-Game".

In my case my Game would break because a Planetary reduction in Size from Large to Medium..

It wouldn't break your previous save game because planet info is all stored in the save game on game start. :D

Regarding the missions, do we still have to accidentally stumble upon one to be triggered? I would prefer them all available in the PDA and start them one by one activating the first chapter. At least fro those missions are not obvious where to go to trigger them

Nope. :D this is an exploration scenario so you'll find them as you explore.

If you follow the "make contact with Terran forces" mission you'll find the old "infected" mission in your pda.
You'll also get clues to a new end game task if you talk to the lead researcher.

Here is a Typo in mission object 3

The PDA states Epsilon II while the actual target and Quest Log is Epsilon III
