I'm still new. I have taken out loads of drones, but today I found a Kiuvera-Class Cutter while do a main story mission. This is the first enemy ship I've come into contact with besides drones. I proceeded to blow up it's rocket launchers, and it just kept flying around. I managed to take out most of it's downward facing thrusters before I ran out of ammo. It was just limping along...so I rammed it into the ground with my little SV to make it stop. I proceeded to land next to it, found the core, destroyed it, placed my own core, looted what little was left of the cargo boxes, and began to deconstruct it's thrusters. All in all, it worked. It was sloppy. It took over 60 rockets and 2000 15mm rounds because of my potato aim, but in the end, I got to loot some stuff, filling up my hold with everything I can fit in it. Although it worked, there's gotta be a better way to do this. How do I take down an enemy AI ship without blowing everything to hell so I can loot it?

    Destroy all down facing thrusters.
You can also destroy the rear ones to stop it from flying around.

First time you take one out try to see where the core is

Next time you see the same ship try sniping out the core with railguns
