No, the deletion of a player file results in a complete reset of stats and being in a faction. The issue is rather a sudden and without warning a loss of control of Vessel and or Base. Which right now we have no idea what is really causing it. other than maybe the aforementioned post
Ahh, ok. Then I guess my first Player File was still murdered by that RL Storm. Tyrax Lightning 1, done in by Lightning... the Karma is real...
Maybe we could do the same for CVs. There are a lot of people wanting to test out there CVs and going toe to toe with another CV for a bit might be kinda fun. Besides, space is getting crowded. Some need a reason to keep building CVs, and destroying them keeps the process going. Maybe one night even do a goliath battle with a few dreadnaughts.
Well my Light Battle Tank got wrecked pretty quick, so I definitely lost that one The MBT is a different story lol But yes, you can totally delete stuff in creative. Open the console (Tab), type in the command "di" (without the quotes), then look at the object you want to delete. At the bottom of the di box, on the left, will be it's id number. Then just type "destroy objectIdNumber" (no quotes, and replacing objectIdNumber with the object Id number ) and poof! It's gone. The problem with CV battles is that there's no real system of check and balances yet. A ship with more turrets will generally win, as far as I can tell.
Ok guys don't know who did it but someone blew up my Titan explorer in orbit of Ulm, I was setting up the Greenhouse in Ulm so everyone could go and participate in the races and have a place to resupply of food and build materials. I hope you guys had your fun and it was really worthwhile..... I just don't get what's so fun about destroying a ship with no crew, am I playing with kids or greavers?!?... I'm leaving this server......
What happened? we have been having this issue of stuff being damaged or disappearing, and the issue of stuff getting attacked has been occurring with BNS somewhat. Just because this happened once doesn't mean its time to quit
Just another post here: So I've also noticed a lot of people who are putting their ships into Private, which is in any PvP zone allows everyone (even your own faction members) to either intentionally or accidentally shoot at the ships, so if you have any ships set to Private or public and not faction. You are Assuming responsibility for any damage that any ship(s) you have set to that state could be shot at at anytime in a PvP zone. And for anyone who may have accidentally shot at or has flown maybe to close to the ship that they had no intention of firing upon come out as soon as the incident occurs, can be excused from the damages and we will suit the player again with the ship in its normal (Undamaged) State by providing the player a new ship or materials to repair any damages. Any one who has caused damage and has not reported it at all, will be assumed to attacking the ships Maliciously and will be dealt with accordingly by any of the Admins or owners of the server.
Well it was set to private but it was powered up and with an offline protection device which is still intact and some of the fuel tanks still have fuel packs so it should have been protected... But the issue here is not just destroyed stuff, this people took considerable time to leave an an-crewed ship as an empty shell, greavers basically, didn't even bothered stealing anything I'm just playing with kids here....
Alright, time to get a little less vague up in here. @Kaeser , I am deeply sorry for the loss of your ship and will happily spawn you a new one and replacement resources and components as needed. Without any evidence of who commited the crime, I can't really pursue justice for it. However, I may be able to narrow it down to a few people. I'll let you know. This brings to our attention, more than ever, that PvP is inherently ruthless. However, we want people to have fun. And getting your ship blown up while you have no say in it is never fun. So I am hereby enacting the following Server Etiquette Bylaws. Deviating from these rules can result in temporary to permanent banishment from the Server, depending on repeat offenses and severity of the issue. All Bans will be discussed and voted upon by the Three Main Faction Leaders (Myself representing RGC, @WarMachine representing GMT, and @MechPilot524 representing BNS) before any ban-related punishments are handed out. ------------------ Server Etiquette ------------------ This server is mainly PvP, however we like to adhere to a set of bylaws that promote fairness and sportsman-like conduct. We believe that battles should be fought most often on even footing, to keep combat fair and balanced, and most importantly, fun for all involved, winner or otherwise. - Griefing and exploiting glitches will result in temporary bans. This includes circumventing Offline Protection Modules. If the behavior continues, it will result in a full ban. If you are unsure whether what you plan to do is considered griefing or exploiting, please defer to your Faction Leader for judgement. - Be aware that if your vessel is set to Private or Public, it is liable to be shot at by any other vessel that is near enough, accidentally or deliberately. If you are in a PvP zone, always exercise caution, regardless how safe you may think the area to be. - However, attacking an unmanned vessel is frowned upon. We consider this an unfair fight, and multiple violations will lead to punishment from the leadership of their Faction. - If you are to attack a manned vessel, it is highly recommended that hail the vessel first with your intentions. We promote fair fights, so ambushes and such, are frowned upon (but not outright prohibited, as the circumstances leading up to the event are important as well). - If in doubt, always defer to your Faction leadership before initiating combat. Be aware that if you openly attack a vessel marked by another Faction, you may be declaring war on behalf of your Faction, which may be to the disapproval of your Leader. - Never rely on an Offline Protection Module to keep you fully protected in a PvP zone. From what I've seen, they are not reliable enough to put your faith in. Perhaps in the future they will be less exploit-able, but for now, always be wary of leaving a ship in PvP orbit for any extended period of time. However, laws are nothing if they are not enforced. I ask all server members to please REPORT any violations they see, WITH SCREENSHOTS of the issue. Evidence is vital. We don't want to have to start banning people (really it's a last resort) but if there are those who just wish to ruin others experiences in the game, we will make sure they do so somewhere other than our server. At worst, we'll have to put a password on the server, which sucks in general. So, let's try to act like people of class, alrighty? (PS - If you have any ideas for rules to add, please share. I want to keep this server fun for everyone involved, and perhaps some of this is too restrictive. If you disagree with anything, let me know and we can discuss it and make things fair and fun for everyone.)
well, mind you the offline protection lasts only for so long, how long i dont remember but any exploits relating to it have been fixed i just know its doesnt last for more than a day
Well last night I BP in a base. Moved all my gear in. To night I went to add some blocks to it and the dame place just all blow up. Everything gone. Thanks for letting me on your server, but Im taking a brake. Cheers...
I have been out of the loop for over a week. I'm not even sure what our faction is anymore or what our goals are. Are we taking turf, staying at home, building a war fleet, storing up trading supplies!?!?!?! The few that have been on and answered have told me they have no idea. The only thing anyone has told me is there seems to be some factionless pirates. Having been a pirate, fought pirates, and fought hexeditors. I can tell you for a fact that everyone blows up ships unmanned. Your ship had no faction tag meaning several things I can't tell if you are with anyone or not. The original goal was to try to take the cv and sv intact. Both proved problematic. As worktime got close and I couldn't find the core of the cv I went to my usual tactics slash and burn. That's when I found out your core was clustered in the left flanks fuel tanks. Most of your midsection was taken out when my sv got stuck. You mostly griefed yourself, please do not leave anything in a pvp zone unless you have extra stations to back it up. You also can fake tag your vessel for that of your faction. In the naming just put [BNS] [GMT] [RGC]. As for the bylaws I can agree it was unsportsmanlike. I have no problem refunding his ship through my resources as punishment. If additional punishment is necessary tell me what it is. I also acted alone and none of my ships were tagged. All I asked my factionmates is if they knew if anyone in our faction owned it. The two that were on told me no. They also have not been able to tell me any of the factions current goals. I also stated some of my talents in an earlier post asking if any needed to be put aside. Infiltration occurs with or without people being on and includes getting into ships as well as onto planets and into bases. The bylaws in this case clear it up.
Many thanks for this info! Now here's to hoping I managed to keep it memorized... (It took me forever to get memorized Minecraft's "/gamerule keepInventory true".) After my Player File tragedy costing me my Private House & first War Tank, i'm pondering the idea of giving up on keeping my private stuff private & setting everything I own to Faction, once the Boss can get me back in, & praying I never have to worry about my personal stuff being abused by fellow Clanners. It's a shame for Ambushes to get frowned upon, but I understand the reasoning behind it at this time. I hope farther in development, we can get enough PvP Balance to where Ambush Restriction can be lifted... especially if the Turret Controls ever get refined further to where ya can possibly specify exact Factions to attack or not attack & whether or not to allow the Turrets to attack Factionless. Any word on fixes for GMT Chain of Command for the Server? I haven't been able to catch Boss Online at the same time as me thus far, & i'm getting the impression my Faction Application expires if I leave game with it still unanswered. Boss might get furious at me for how behind i'm getting at Clan Contribution, but I can't contribute if I can't access Clan Resources or Structures, & my House isn't far enough along to where I can possibly store Contribution in it even temporarily, it's way too incomplete atm. I hope i'm not letting my fellow GMTs down... It's a good idea to have the Structural Integrity Field visible while Building in case any areas are starting to get a bit weak unnoticed. (Hold 'N' & toggle SI Indicator on/off as desired.)
Yes, if you are building a new base from scratch, you should always watch SI, and trust me, on creative saves I've sometimes failed to pay attention to SI and the thing just collapses, so your not alone.
I'm torn on this issue. While I hate limiting PvP to a set of rules, wanton destruction of ships serves no purpose to anyone. Especially ships that are Event/OOC ships for special use. I thought they fixed the issue with PvP protection? That's why I've been telling GMT to park their ships in Danube orbit when they log. At this rate the game is going to force us to go all PvE just to get anything done. IMO, going password protected would be bad for the player base. But, there is the option to start clean if we do go password. The reset will be needed to clean the server as some won't bother returning and we already have alot od derelict stuff, there is a trick to saving your CV HV and SV during a complete reset. Funnel everyone that comes into the server into one of the three factions of their choosing. Before giving the password or some one they get vetted on hopefully something better then this forum, and then give them the password to join. But, currently I'm still not GMT's owner and my PC is going to have be rebuilt again. I got my notice that my Vive will be shipping soon, and just my luck VorpX release support. Hopefully, I'll be VR piloting one of my own SVs in PvP soon.
Well with the bylaws up I know which of my skillsets have a time and place and which ones will simply have to be put down. As for the offline protection there was nothing, heres a screenie before, I was shot out of my first sv.
don't need to memorize...just type "help" in console... well factions stuff are not safe in PvP either...somebody destroyed my Crogohum Farm in Ulm which was set to Faction (few weeks ago, not a recent incident), but it will save your stuff if mishap like yours happen As for funneling people to faction...I still think limit starting planet to 1 neutral planet and recruit from there would be better than to have 3 starting planet as all starting planets get cluttered with starting base for new players who may leave the server just after 1 play season...this also give all faction to give fair chance to recruit the new player
