I hope I get a chance to see what my new SV can do before this happens. I've been antsy to see if I did any good at building it. (Especially if there's any Aspect of it that may warrant tweaks or if it'll turn out to be a successful model of Ship.) Also, please add to the discussion if PvE-ness of Home Worlds will ever be lost & switched to PvP for any reason or if they will be guaranteed PvE forever. I bout had a heart attack when this got asked about in past in-game Convo while I was in middle of building my House outta only just Concrete thinking I was guaranteed to get away with it... Awesome! Will be epic to be able to talk to my fellow GMTs about secret GMT stuff in a Private Forum so we can get our sneakiness on. Question: Will we start all over in regards to Resource Acquisition? I'm unsure if I can continue to contribute to my Clan with my Mining Efforts before the Wipe or not, or if i'll be wasting my time doin this.. Also I assume from reading this that loss of Player File & Personal Inventory is not intended, but if it does happen, will it be intended for us to roll with it & re-power up manually & re-acquire what we lost normally? Lastly, I already got all my Pre-Alpha BPs Deleted. Hell yeah! Maybe also be able to more easily contact our Faction Boss for Questions & Inquiries too.
I think it'll be a completely clean wipe, starting all over again. However the faction leaders should have a way to help you get back on your feet, I'd check with WarMachine for that. My assumption would be - I don't know what his plans are and they're probably different from what I'm going to do with BNS - is that he will have another warehouse to help you guys just like he did after Danube got wiped.
Yes, I've been spreading by word of mouth, but there will be a GMT embassy built on the planet with corporate aid for the miners traveling to this new (reset) solar system. Officers should be assigned fairly quickly, and getting everyone started is going to be a priority of mine.
Ahh, then no sweat. Just good to know in advance so I can mentally prepare... & hug my Epic Minigun farewell... for now. Also I hope the new Danube Home World gets more Fiber & Alien Plasma T6 Plants... In the meantime, I guess testing my Iji Ship is the last remaining real meaningful thing I can do left on the Server before the Wipe, especially when I went through all that trouble to ammo & gear it up & get that done already.
damnit tyrax, if you missed a part, Slam said in pg 39 said you wont lose levels or items in your inv
I said in theory It is possible to preserve to player files, but we have no idea if that will bring corruption back with it. As I see it, the corruption is associated with the Pre-Alpha blocks only, which shouldn't be in your inventories anyway. Regardless, we can help restore you to your previous level through a variety of methods, so don't worry about levels too much
ok, can you at least make sure mine is safe? (if corruption occcurs, i can deals) because i have several none PA BP's ready to spawn and im respawning my CV and 2 Ghosts by myself And by several i mean i have 3 "cars" sitting in my BP spawn list lol
thanks for taggin me yep the cap ship U got from me is an alpha build, this ship won't give any server issues
so in theory players would be able to put their gathered materials into the factory and make some blueprints rdy? as they are player based and that in theory shouldn't be affected would be cool!
If we wipe player files it might help with the faction control issues we've been having. Some new Blue members told me that they don't have those faction issues on other servers.
Yeah that was the one thing I didn't mention. However as I've seen, the faction is not tied to your player file, meaning on transfer you lose your faction. If the factions are wiped, then we can start them again and get the original names back with proper Leaders and Admins in them. Or at least that's how it worked the last time we did a full wipe like this They got corrupted last time this happened sooo... I wouldn't put my trust in that honestly. :\
Plus everyone's gonna rush the Meteors, then Mining Meteors levels ya up nice & fast anyway. My new SV Iji had a beautiful Test Run! ^_^ Star Viper & another Clanner I need to get the name of properly memorized (Damn crappy Memory of mine.) were epic enough to bring myself & my Iji to a PvP Asteroid area to test her out then Star test drove one of his SVs against Iji. Iji murdered his Ship without taking a scratch. Spoiler: This only took about 8 Salvos & one good direct hit. It took what felt like 30 minutes to get it repaired then he tried again, this time opting to run like a Jackrabbit through the Asteroids. I fired on him mercilessly for what felt like over 20 minutes & finally gunned him down. If he was trying to run me outta Ammo, it stood no chance... after the end, I still had over 25,000 Rail Gun Bullets left. Spoiler: His Ship only just died tired. As the Ship was getting salvaged again, Mech came online & offered to test Iji against the Barracuda... of course I had to accept! What the hell kinda Gamer would I be if I said no to a Boss Battle fight? The second he warped in, all of us GMTs got a 'Quit & Email' error & had to hop back into the game. When I got back in, he was already ready to begin. I pondered my opening strategy a moment, then charged... Holy hell, the lag! His Ship didn't maneuver around me, it lag jumped & rubber banded around. (I found out after the battle my Ship also appeared to do the same for him.) I had to resort to firing Volleys into where I thought he'd Rubber Band too & fought like hell, unleashing hellacious amounts of Rail Gun Bullets into him... a couple times I accidentally lag flew into the Barracuda & Face Planted into it. One of the times that happened, I took a mortal hit & fell in combat, defeated. I only managed to defeat one of the Turrets. I can only imagine how the battle would be if neither of us lagged, let alone that hard... maybe in Beta we can find out. Overall, I think Iji had a beautiful Test Run & am currently cooking up the next one & considering her a Finished Build at this time. P.S. Iji can hold 12 Rail Guns of 25 Rail Gun bullets = 300 Rail Gun Bullets per Load, plus up to 28,000 Rounds for a grand total Ammo Capacity of 28,300 Rounds. Ya wanna try to stall out my Ammo? Good luck, you're gonna need it. I like to have good Sustain when I can. Can't win Wars by tiring easily.
Hah, the Barracuda class is not meant to fight SVs. Glad to find that it can do it, though when you're six inches away from fifteen CV-class rocket launchers.... pretty hard to miss. I'm very disappointed in the turrets though, they couldn't track a target or even fire a shot. Subsequent encounters with space drones showed similar flaws: turrets just can't track and shoot at targets if the platform is in motion. Disappointing. No, I just offered because I was curious in seeing how the Barracuda could maneuver in comparison to an SV and it actually worked quite well, though I know where I need to place new thrusters in the class's first remodel. In the meanwhile, the prototype Barracuda vessel has been scrapped and a new one has been built with some modifications, christened Sharpfin and given hull designation ADD-01, Assault Destroyer #1. Soon the second ship of the class, ADD-02 Sawtooth, will also be commissioned. Although the two will be physically identical, they will have different paint and texturing jobs on the outside.
Your not the first CV captain to tell me this. I don't know how it works under the new system but I still load up most of my turrets manually. They don't always seem to load themselves like I'm told they are supposed to. You don't seem to have to initialize them anymore as far as I can tell.
Badger: [Looking at Slam] I say we take off. Nuke the site from orbit. [Looks to @MechPilot524] Badger: It's the only way to be sure.
Glad I could be of help. When the Turrets DID bother to try to do their job, they tried like hell to shoot my Player down as I kept goin for my Backpack & trying to sneak a Cockpit outta the Spare Parts Box & they lead some of the Shots. a LOT of Shots whizzed right by me adrenaline rushingly close for me being such a small target, even if to be fair a Player is a slow dude in Space. They even got me once when I screwed up one of my dodges. Also one of the Deaths happened near my one surviving Spare Parts Boxes & took out that Box as well before I could get the Cockpit thus finishing off the Iji effectively making for a full KO. With that said, I STILL hold my stance that IMHO ALL Turret Rotation Speeds are universally too slow. Next play, my next Iji should be ready to deploy & start gearin & re-ammoing, then if I get another ride, I can go to Isto-something where a person with a Base there has expressed desire for his Defenses to be 'tested'. Sounds like a Merc Job Posting to me.
I think the arty turrets should be the slowest with the mini guns being the fastest. Wish we had a benchmarks for these. But as of right now most turrets appear to be ABYSMALLY slow.
According to sources I know in PvP zones that turrets seem to bug out and act wierd when they're all attached to the same core. I've seen players splitting up their defenses into separate bases and bunkers, which seems to fix the problem. I think there's some kind of processing bottleneck with cores that screws up operation of bases.
This is already the case, when I say Buff, I mean Universal Buff among all of them, like maybe +50 Turn Speed to every single one of them so they all turn faster but still have the same Turn Rate balance between them.
