I'm thinking since it's already Friday, we will use up some more SV's in a space/land match around aesteus, and then do a ship fps pvp the week after.
Advertising!! tune in at red vs blue tomorrow (saturday) for more action Red is planning a few rounds of smurf ball (smurf kicking) we hope to deliver great entertainment and send some smurfs Footage: from furians view will be available forum My (Furian's) view in unedited form shortly after the fight and with no sound (as you should not listen to me speak with my danish friend and listen to my music) on http://plays.tv/u/Furian will later on be uploaded in an edited format. might even be available live (if I get the time to try it out before the match) through in the future I hope to stream the planned saturday fights
sorry for no stream, it malfunctioned just before the fight were getting started next time I'll try to do better
Here is the unedited version ofwhat I recorded for this fight. Since teams were uneven, I decided to sit this one out and record the fight rather than participate. I was still shot at a few times at the beginning, but no major damage. Regardless, both teams sustained damage and we're not really sure how to count the damage. I called it a Close Victory for Blue, but feel free to watch the video and determine for yourself!
heh, even though my ship is a tank, this video really shows what I feared i haden't totally overcome... 80% of the frontal damage to my ship where delivered by my own guns, and when 8 railguns or 6 plasma cannons hit from the inside, it's bound to take out a few blocks. Still had 90% of my guns and 10.000 rounds left with blues name on it when the match ended.. dammit! - well played Blue it's quite chaotic to fight in space, and won't bring my prototype bomber next time next time it'll be another field test of yet another fighter congrats blue, great match..... even though I chose to believe I could have outlastet Rayah and Zoral, i liked the 2vs1 odds But then again - you two are excellent fighter pilots - for future matches I don't think that the lack of O2 should be accepted as a reason to end the round, anyone who runs out of O2 and wanna leave the round forfeit the round and should be counted as a loss/downed ship. - mostly because of a more realistic aspect. at least I won't accept this excuse XD
I can also record. Streaming, I should* be able to do, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I might get professional software for it soon though. Given that I'm on Blue, it should add a perspective, it seems the other two camera guys are Red. Have you guys thought of special game modes like King of the Hill or Capture the Flag? King of the Hill could involve a public space station in the middle with some armament. A team needs to capture it and claim it for their faction by placing their own cores. Capture the Flag would be where the "flag" is a unique item in a publicly available cargo box, say a public space station, and the teams need to go grab the item from the cargo box and bring it to an objective location. Given the team size I see in Slam's video, I think it could be done unmodded if there were neutral admins or moderators to monitor the gameplay.
Ooohh, game modes is a great idea. I'm still tempted to want to wait for mod support, for automatic counters and timers and being able to keep track of damage/accuracy/etc/etc. But I agree, with a few "referees" we could definitely do some interesting games. One I just thought of is having a derelict ship in the middle of a "field", and both teams have a "goal." Each team tries to ram the derelict ship (aka the ball) into the opponents goal. Not exactly PvP, but an entertaining break from the usual fly-and-shoot.
It could still be fly-and-shoot in that players can shoot each other. To keep it interesting ammo could be limited, so that you only shoot when the timing is right instead of spamming shots into the dark.
Would be nice to know when these events start, no message or post in here makes it a juggling act to catch it. Simply saying its on Sunday doesnt really work because were all on different time zones, I can be around at almost anytime as can SWS [ lives next door ] but we need to know what time events start.
You want to move to GMT as the universal time for the server? Also, I'm trying to move to using the steam group as the announcement conduit since it will give you a popup if you are playing a steam game.
Damn sorry you missed it. it's normally around 2-5 pm central time / 21-23 gmt+1 but yeah I agree, we should be better at using the steam group for announcement and invite all new players, actually, I'd better join it (damn forgot)
Same time as usual mate! 3PM CST is 7AM your time in the land down under (Brisbane time zone at least). Typically we give about an hour for extra people to show up before beginning. This also equates to 8:00PM GMT. If someone wants to keep up with maintaining the Steam group, it can auto-send invites and reminders and such. I've got too much on my plate and can't manage both of them, so volunteers are welcome!
Hi guys I picked up this game on the weekend and spent a while learning the game on single player. I'd like to join Team Red I already dropped down on Omicron and did a bit of mining.
Send an app to RGC's faction. This server's not so much about the survival aspect so much as it is building awesome stuff and fighting each other with it in a sort-of survival situation.
Heya, glad to have you! I just sent you a PM with details and instruction how to join the Red team. I'll be at work for a few hours still, but I'll log on once I get home. Edit: ALSO, new members have arrived and I haven't quite kept up with it :x if you notice your (or another players) name is not on the Teams list on the Front Page, let me know and I'll get em added in!
