Cool ship, but to subscribe you require the CV Deimos? I want to pop this thing into creative to fly it around and peer under the hood and I have to be careful of subscriptions because I already generate and have so many Soooo, dang it. Still, from the images - I like the uniform design theme that you carried over from your CV. Plus, for a bomber it has plenty of weaponry. I note that it has 4 pulse laser cannons, so maybe fighter-bomber instead of pure bomber? If you are going for the pure bomber look, exchanged the pulse laser cannons for Plasma? Nice ship - a bunch of those flying at a fleet would be intimidating as hell.
Introducing, Gestalt. A powerful, fast, agile, heavily armed, well stocked level 5 survival Hovercraft. Not cut in a traditional design, Gestalt fully confirms that you can survive against impossible odds while still maintaining a artistic and stylistic flare - Do be ready for worship from the Talon Guardians! Just please be careful not to exploi... *cough* abuse your power! 6 miniguns and 4 minigun turrets will keep everything at bay until you reach level 10 and want to add rocket turrets. Kind of a fun plus; Gestalt's turret mountings allow for easy additions whenever you want to add them! Covers all terrain with ease - even glides fair distances. Also makes for an excellent sniping platform against the various food sou.... *cough* I mean hostile, man-eating wildlife. My apologies on the requirement (workshop noob here)! The Deimos isn't actually required, it's just part of the same fleet. I'll change that right now! Also, in regards to it being a fighter/bomber: I had originally intended this to be an aerial bomber (capable of carpet bombing from above!), but unfortunately you can't install guns facing vertically, so that shot my idea of having downward-facing rocket launchers to pieces in an instant. Instead, I decided to add the pulse lasers, as I really enjoy their fire rate and damage output, and can throw a ton of ammo down range on POI runs. This thing is awesome for taking out POIs
Introducing, Beast. A level 5 hovercraft that has all the essentials and will make the Ziraxians think twice before attacking you. Maybe not as fast as I like, but it is named BEAST and is plenty agile while still possessing average speed. After playing around with this design, I kind of feel like there is more here - as in, either with this design or another, I suspect that the various builders out there could further it or build others that are better. Like say, SV's, CV's, or even bases that fit the tentacle feel. Definitely not for PVP.... although you might want to spawn it to show it off to your alien girlfriends. Beast is always a hit. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=813578363 Enjoy! Beast is Hunting... You.
What are you going to do with all that new loot and ore that you mined from the spectacular new HV excavation rig? Build, Dark Valley. Is a house of multi-tiered plating complete with king-sized bed, TV, toilet, couch, and resting chair to contemplate the universe. Just watch your step.... It is hard to tell from the images but the plates are at different heights. Is designed for Ningues and the Moon. Can easily convert to a regular base with constructors and such, just be a smidge careful - depending on the terrain it is spawned, the various plates can have more or less structural integrity. I included the last image(s) which are the same as the file I loaded to the workshop so that you can see the house in it's entirety - depending on the terrain, the plating can sometimes be hidden. Your ship is such an interesting design, it really tugs at the mind in different fun ways. I love it.
One of the hardest things to build in empyrion: Circles, rounded edges, wheels. Rutgers did a pretty good job.
Just curious. Has anyone come up with almost 360 view cockpit design. Placed off center of an otherwise symmetrical air frame. For use where a passenger can visually scan the ground all around. For use as either an tourist of scouting craft. I am thinking of this real world example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blohm_&_Voss_BV_141#/media/File:Blohm_und_Foss_VoB_141B.svg A big perk of off setting the cockpit is you can look in almost every direction.
I think the ability to toggle a 3rd-person camera undermines the necessity of a 360-view from the cockpit (not saying it wouldn't be neat, just that most won't think it's needed). Either way... perhaps not the best example, since anyone sitting on the left still has that big ol' engine fuselage next to them not the best window seat. As for the topic, I finally put the Vanquisher up on the workshop, along with its lopsided little cousin whom I've dubbed the Avante.
Yes the 3rd person camera makes it not needed. It just something that looks kind of neat and is a bit of a challenge to pull off. I was actually kind of thinking of a first person view. In a sort of "small ship gone large" sort of way. It just an particular nice aesthetic feel to be able to look around from inside the ship. I am being influenced here by a very common symmetrical ship design with good windows. The Pilgrim http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=722387578&searchtext= I was looking on the workshop to see if anyone had made a smaller cockpit. Nearly all glass to give a pantomimic view. The hung it off to one side of the main engine blocks. A view down would be nice too. So far the best I have come up with is adding a balcony onto the side of the ship. Which turns out to be great for using the sniper rifle but not really what I was really after. An all glass cockpit to walk around in. I thought that would be kind of hard to pull off without some kind of externally mounted pod away from the main body of the ship. Could be wrong but I bet somebody has already tired that sort of stuff.
Looks absolutely awesome man. My only wish... and your ship makes me want it even more... is that there be more 'empty shell' blueprints and that we could share outside f%!#"#ing steam. God your ship looks good. Wish I had that kind of talent. Mine always end up looking like a f!#""/!ed up cube.
Here's my Alien Spire. The cockpit is in the glass bubble on the one side, and the ship flies upright. An elevator shaft leads from the ground to the top where there's a landing pad. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=847664431
Wow indeed! That first picture of the ship looks like it belongs on an old school classic sci-fiction novel. What an amazing picture.
