For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: v1.9.3 4018 Mode: Survival Mode: Solo SERVER NAME: N/A SEED-ID: N/A If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Reproducibility: Frequently (almost always - see below) Severity: Minor -> Major (depends if the ship's resources are needed or if the battle was ugly) Type: AIVessels Summary: Ships (in space) despawn after being cored. Description: After taking out a ship, I usually try to get a core on it to raid it's contents/expensive components (warp drives, etc.). Almost every time the ship will despawn even if I'm in close proximity. I've had it happen while salvaging (with or without placing a core), interacting the the control panel or using the logistics interface to unload crates. Could take between 60-300 seconds after it has been destroyed for the ship to despawn. This has not happened with POIs/Space Bases. I've found that if a block or two is added to the ship immediately after my core is placed the ship will not despawn. Seems like placing the core is not marking the ship as a player owned entity. There is no message in the console for the despawn, the ship just goes poof (with core attached). I can understand why destroyed ships could despawn to recover system resources, but this is while I'm inside the ship interacting with the control panel. Sometimes this happens 4-5 minutes after, sometimes I can barely get my drone over to place a core and poof gone. It has happened with ships moving (under thrust or by bumping into) and with ships stationary. If I place some blocks after the core the ship doesn't despawn and even after recovering my core the wreck doesn't despawn. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Take out an AI controlled ship. 2) Place a core, claim ownership. (Ship's map marker is green) 3) Wait a few minutes and the ship will "probably" disappear. The majority of the AI piloted vessels are purposely set up by the devs to despawn. So unless you specify exactly which ones you are having issues with it will most likely just be marked as not a bug and closed, since as I said it is intentional with most of them.
