It's the drones fault I had to come up with a new SV, but I kind of like how it turned out so I won't take them off the Xmas list just yet. I had just barley gotten my base operational (less than 5 min) when I start hearing loud noises. This is what I found after dispatching the drone. Guess some escape pods were not destined to be repaired. So still in need of a SV to tame the planet this is my newest toy, the Turtle_1. It's only lightly armored but has all that is needed in a covered but easily accessible interior. The ramp is low enough that no jet pack is needed to get on, just a small hop, it's also 3 blocks wide so no more problems entering on tilted ground even with the double door entry. With the latest changes to O2 stations I could hide this one with just enough room to click on it (right side by O2 tanks). I added an underbelly below the ramps as they have no armor value, that means that the bottom will take some landing damage from time to time but it's a trade off to keep it low to the ground for easy access. The 4 landing lights help avoid the worst rocks and such when landing away from the base. All critical components have an average of 2 hull blocks protections and the 2 sets of fuel tanks (2 each side in the rear) are far enough apart that it should keep a chain reaction from happening if one does take a hit. Oh, did I mention that this is a Snapping Turtle? It may not have heavy armor but if you can get it in the cross hairs and fire it's usually dead with 8 pulse lasers it can hit hard. With 3 RCS units, 4 regular thrusters rear, 2 armored front, and 2 slant thrusters down (plus regular directional thrusters in most directions) it moves and dodges quite well for it's size. When it goes it hits max speed within seconds and it stops or backs up almost as fast. Now to just find some brown trim paint to make it look like a turtle. Update: I was pleasantly surprised at how well the trick with putting windows on the outside of a vehicle actually works. I present the Glass_Turtle. LOL
Now we just need some brown paint to make a rat, and three more of these. Then we'll be ready for the Foot Clan
Star wars fans , one for you guys ! The Millennium Falcon, in small blocks, high detail, not to any specific scale, just a big little ship ! Enjoy..... Video... Blueprint. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xndma3sqw5kfnc3/Millenium-Falcon-MK2.epb?dl=0 Pic.
really nice replic, you did great job, but i will not see hoe many fuel consumn this ship on planets:-D
Something I was thinking would be cool is if a docked SV could be the cockpit of a CV. Kind of like using a CV as a booster instead of a full ship.
I'm in disagreement with that basically I could then make a Mobil base. Unless you still prevent CV from entering the planet.
What I am suggesting would not allow CV to land. You would need to undock your SV to drop down to the planet. Its not too unlike this concept
well, with the fuel costs being what they are on a CV, might not be terrible to have a CV in atmo, but, it would invalidate the need for bases, I like the idea of settting up an orbital, and using a SV to shuttle back and forth from the planet side, even though the HV is much better with fuel, I still using them instead of HV... I think they need to make the HV a more compact stamp, like possible a much smaller and open cock pit for HV. Also, I think a ship should have oxygen , I love what these guys have done so far, can't wait to see what is next
This is the Albatross Mark 1. My cultivation of hard-learned experience and previous designs (shown in one of the pics) from all of my survival games. Thank goodness for blueprints, because I've lost every one of these ships so far except the Albatross. *fingers crossed* The ship features two cockpits for the traditional gunship look. The new cockpit where you can look down is very nice to have! Very large interior section with 6 cargo/fridge, O2 station, 6 passenger cabins for multiplayer (if we ever get servers) and a backup generator/fuel tanks hidden in the tail. Armed with 4x Pulse Lasers and 4x Pulse Cannons. Utilities/Extras include twin spotlights, many normal lights inside and out, and 7 landing gear blocks. Thrust power is average for such a big ship, but I like to keep fuel costs down. She'll life off of Aestus just fine. Hope you like it!
looks good, not sure about the extra 2 front cockpit, style is nice looks more like a drop ship, shame we don`t got like cargo box, etc to drop on planets, like detachable stuff to drop, a la kerbal , with time I know ...
Yeah that would be pretty sweet. I can see this game turning into a sandbox type Halo once we get more advanced multiplayer features. Also the passenger cabins are kind of lame. Instead that extra cockpit should be able to be used as a passenger cabin (no flight ability), or just operate weapons like an actual gunship setup, then have passenger chairs like on the CV...like what the Pelican uses.
oh jfm1612, nice ship, a bit more star treky with the 2 full engine on the side would of look better I think, but looks good ands piddle foot I got that beast downloaded , will test it out later
here is a small star trek ship wit h2 different cockpit, I might modified it, not sure about the design
