Plasma weapons have nice "torpedoey" effect and feel into them so I did a complete overhaul on my mini-bomber, making it even smaller and now with plasma instead of rockets. Damage seems to be approximately same so there's not much point into this aside getting nicer effects and even smaller production cost & time. Had tons of fun bombing temples and defense bases at Masperon into oblivion though so here's some pics and bp link (took all the pics on the design phase though, since it's quite hard to line up proper angle and timing for a great shooting photo when something shoots back) underpic: top-view pic: and inside carrier: Blueprint link http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=631678713
Tired of walking? Does local wildlife think you're a lunch? Gathered too much ores and your packbag is full? Suit oxygen running low? Here's a solution to all those daily hardships, suffer no more! Get your very own Walker Exploration Rover, it features everything you need for exploration or for life on any planet in general! So save your shoes, get your Rover today and let "the Walker" do the walking for you. Done in a small vessel format, despite the name since I still think past level 5, hovercrafts are bloody useless. So your walker can even fly! Hunting with double miniguns! Able to cross any terrain! Amphibious! Edit: I forgot to tell that there's enough space for any mini-line small vessel on the front platform, but, since we can't dock small vessels into each others, oh' well... Get yours from here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=632301207
Nice looking ship there, I still think it should be in a Capital ship sub thread instead of small vessel, but..... ;D
There's times when I feel like talking to myself in here! Nevertheless, here's another small vessels which I made using those new curved thin blocks. Turned out to be pretty nice looking and -handling little thingy even if I may myself say so. Now that we have these round thin blocks it has occurred to me to design a few gunships. On the first one I got inspiration from Dragonflies, which are pretty common in summers up here. This ultra light, small predator comes with two railguns pre-equipped, I can publish the unarmed version as well if someone wants, just say so. With double railguns this takes level 12 to make and roughly 200 ingots of iron with less of everything else. Unarmed version is level 7 with no special materials needed. Also features an oxygen station for all those planets with non breathable atmosphere. Blueprint link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=633997054
Lookin good! Suggestion: Raise the height of those circle thingies to 2 Blocks high then ya can put both Down & Up Thrusters into each of them then they'd look better & give ya more up & down Thrust. Also could possibly sneak a Rear Facing Thruster onto the back of the Rail Guns.
I thought about that when making this and tried. Personally I prefer flatter "hover" engines (those round thingies) since the whole gunship is merely 4 blocks high. Making the engines two blocks tall makes them feel a bit too chunky for my taste, also putting the rear thruster(s) behind railguns would increase building time and ingot cost. I think this moves quite well with one, and if I put one thruster to either side, would need to do both sides to keep symmetry, but that's not a bad suggestion And as always you're free to use and edit the blueprint more to your liking, so if you want to make two tall "hover" engines, please feel free to do so
This is my "Sgt. Tactical Stealth Scout - B52 version" . Even made a Assault Class. If anyone is interested let me know then i`ll try to figure out how to share blueprints.
Looks nice. Here's a wiki article on "how to share blueprints" http://empyrion.gamepedia.com/Blueprints_and_Steam_Workshop Generally you just press alt+o while pointing your ship to save it as a blueprint, then access the BP library by pressing f6. Then just find the blueprint you want to share and press "publish", which sends it to the steam workshop, if it's public then anyone can access it.
Ahh, then smallness is a priority with it. I understand. Navigate to your Hard Drive - Program Files (x86) - Steam - Steamapps - Common - Empyrion: Galactic Survival - Saves - Blueprints - (huge fat Number for File Name) - then ya will find all your saved Blueprints here. Use a File Zipping program of choice (I use 7zip) to save the creation folder into a .zip file, then ya can Upload this File to the Site to share it that way. Ya can even be lazy & also leave the .zip files there & it won't affect your game negatively. Steam Workshop works too. Done that way if ya ever change the Creation later ya can re-save the BP & then press 'Update' to Update it to current Revision on the Workshop. The old school way can still be useful too however, as then ya can preserve copies of older revisions of Creations as well instead of them being lost. Also, I didn't know F6 shortcuts to the Blueprints Screen before, many thanks for the share! I need to remember that!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=633645375&searchtext=colonial viper This is my first shared blueprint on the steam workshop. Above is a link to the workshop page where the blueprint can be found. I also have a smaller version made before the new blocks were implemented that I will upload soon. This version is made mostly with the new blocks. The interior design allows for access to the cockpit from inside the passenger/cargo area. This allows you to hover, exit the cockpit and access your containers in the rear compartment, use an inventory item (like a medkit which I'm pretty sure you can't use if you are in the cockpit) or refuel without ever getting out of the craft or landing even in an atmosphere/gravity without using the jetpack. Most of the specs of the vessel are listed on the workshop page. I am currently building a Cylon Raider and have created a fully functional and relatively large CV based on the X-Men Blackbird. Visit me on twitch to watch my builds in progress. I rent and run a private dedicated server with a few active players. I create all my builds in survival mode simply because that's more fun for me.
Another go on the Gunship prospect with our new thin curved blocks. Obviously we can't create proper helicopters yet, with the lack of rotating parts, but this is about as close as I could get. Modeled after legendary MI-24 "Hind" attack chopper. Made with "snow camo" to hide properly on Ningues and to honor our arctic neighbor. It's a tad bit on the fat side, but properly armed, and also it cannot hold enough soldiers to invade a small country like the real one Blueprint link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=635341710
A transformed Viking, it's size was a little hard to make considering how small I made my Viking but I made them roughly around the same size.
This game seriously lacks in destructive power atm, there's quite little in the way of just razing down enemy buildings. Invading enemy bases is quite pointless after you clean two first planets, because nothing found in the loot is worth a damn. So I created the three experimental ships I built sole purpose of razing down enemy buildings. I usually bring this ship to bear when I've cleansed all the drones and ion cannons but haven't yet gotten cores down from from anything aside drone base. It looks badass, moves like a pregnant whale and one hit from main cannon makes whole walls disappear Oh and the "pocket" comes from this being a small vessel so it's small enough to be pretty cheaply manufactured and easy to carry around. The ammo cost though is quite astronomical Side profile Firing the main cannon! Blueprint link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=636393986
If you know how to properly design a hovercraft (and fly one), they are actually quite excellent and my preferred method of dealing with getting around a planet and its POIs. You need to work on one in *survival* to understand how they work, and it won't take long to figure out all the misconceptions and wives tales about the number of and placement of hover engines, core position and so forth are rubbish. I see many so called advanced and esoteric designs that are just so completely wrong. edit: Ehta, I was not having a go at you. I am reading my reply as harsh towards you, and that was not my intention at all. Sorry if I came off that way.
That's a pretty cool looking design. Some big part of me really twitches at it though... a double helicopter drone. SHOOT IT! It must have good loot!
Ehta, seeing that Ship fire its 'Main Cannon' looks epic! Agreed. I think much of the problem comes from trying to Factory down HVs from a Blueprint & having its Recalculated Hover Position break the entire HV's effectiveness. Hope this gets fixed/dealt with someday.
You're right - blueprinting is a huge problem for HVs. I've only posted one super simple one for my "survival constructorless" hardcore games... but you definitely need to chop off the extra parts to get the center of hover reset right. Maybe one day they'll change it to respect the original design when a blueprint is spawned. Until then I just calculate in for the center before saving mine. A bit of trail and error, but when done right - they are really great for use. SV has a place too, but I really do love the HV. I think I came off sounding harsh at Ehta and it wan't my intention. I am just an avid HV defender. ;-)
