It's not too bad actually, with just whatever is spawned in the tanks during Creative (3 large fuel packs per tank so 1800 total) you can keep going for over an hour when moving in three directions at the same time including forward! I'm glad to know that, I haven't faced large drones yet so I'll keep it in mind for the future
Nifty looking ship. I honestly wanna call that the Pinhead Vessel, only because looking at it reminds me of Hellraiser from way back in the day lol. Looks cool though, Keep up the work!
Good lord, that thing must sound AWFUL right now with all those engine noises popping and clicking LOL! Neat lil ship though.
Tie Fighter! The real one! Having this ball shaped cockpit done ill soon bring the other versions of starwars ships
I finished the other two Escape pods. A normal Escape pod and "the evil one". @Louco Beautiful work! But you can use the change/rotate tool to invert this windows to look dark from the outside, like this: A really nice SV
I didnt know that i could do that... Im new to the game!!!! Thank you Ill change that. Edited: Here the reviewed version of Tie Fighter. Thanks to G.Metzel for showing me how to correct the glass color. Also, I made some minor corrections that i didnt see before. View attachment 10358
Those Windows are gonna be awful lagtastic... consider using Thin Wall Blocks in their place instead. With that said, lookin spiffy.
Thank you for your feedback and for liking it. About using wall blocks i guess it will add a too much mass to the ship. window 30kg stell 120kg hardened 250kg. Also i didnt experienced any lag with this ship yet. But Ill try stell wall plates and see if it looks as cool as it does with glass wing. In fact Ill do those changes building the Tie Interceptor. Edit: Here the Tie Interceptor on 2 versions: one with glass(tie interceptor light) other with hardened steel(tie interceptor heavy).
The mass of the hull blocks is different. 120kg is the mass of the cube form(edit for CV ans BA), other forms of hull block have their specific weight. edit: Examples for SV blocks cube, steel: 15kg wall and wall L-shape, steel: 7 kg window 1x1: 4 kg
I was wondering that but even having lower weight on other shapes its still heavier then using glass by a lot. the interceptor i made the 2 versions and i easyly noticed the difference. Edit: And beeing those 2 ships(tie and interceptors) supposed to be light, fast and with grate maneuverability. Using glass was my first opition. The problem can be the lag as Tyrax Lightning said... I tried only on offline game and i got no lag at all.. Have to try it online
What Tyrax Lightning means are not "lags" he means the PC of the Player need high performance for this many windows. A little test show me, that 3 of your Tie Fighter reduce the FPS on my PC by around ~3-4. Oh it looks awesome, but if some guys use your Tie Fighter on a dedicated server the FPS drops to the ground for the players. edit: I present the new M3+ "Vega" Dropship and "Mister Darth" The escape pod joined the dark side of the force and named from now on "Mister Darth". The M3+ "Vega" Dropship is just an ordinary 7000 blocks, 21000 iron ignot, 320 ton Dropship with 778 thrusters and 328 RCS.
Yes... I know he was talking about video lag... and thats why i said i only tested offfline... Here I got some fps drop with 5 on screen but they werent flying around... Online the video drop will surelly be greater and some low end pcs may suffer a lot... I totally agree with Tyrax Lightning and for online i might use only the wall plated wings. Pretty cool M3+ "Vega" Dropship !!!
I'm still waiting for the Stellaris patch to drop so I let myself get distracted with creating Yet More SVs Please Please Stop. this is based on a dream I had last night where I was creating the shape. I'm not kidding. The Cain XV-14 Blackjack Interceptor! Note there are NO reverse thrusters on the Blackjack. This was initially an oversight, but then I flew it and decided I actually liked it. You can "cruise" by throttling up and then not worrying about the ship automatically slowing down, and I've discovered that if you repeatedly hit the reverse key (default S) you can slow down in increments anyway, which means you can even decide a cruising speed. Also, never being still is good in a fight... Steam Workshop link: Click Here!
1.1, also known as Clarke. You can subscribe to the beta of it through Steam but since I'm between games I decided to wait for the proper release.
Don't ask me where the idea for this one came from. It was something along the lines of "I wonder what it would look like if I did this..." and a ship was born. The Cain XV-16 Shillelagh Light Bomber! Tyrax will love the fact it uses his favourite cockpit but hate the rocket placement Though it's classed as a light bomber it handles better than some of my interceptors and has a punch more in line with the heavier bombers... Well I don't use rocket launchers in dogfights so... Gone back to the initial design style for Cain ships with this one: The XV-19 Morningstar. Note that this is like the Blackjack in that it has no reverse thrusters. After getting used to flying without them I've decided it's my new favourite thing, as I love being able to move forward and strafe with only one key pressed down plus it just feels... right. To each their own... though with no way to counter forward momentum one can't help but to wonder how ya go about stopping that forward momentum so ya can Land & stuff...
