Hey Guys! I have here my SV Wing-MKIII with "loose/not connected" ship parts. I like the possibility too still built this way. Tell me what u think and are they more "loose/not connected" ships out there? And yea, i know open cargo Boxes are not that great....but its the failure of the Conzept But still easy to free POIs of turrets, because of the form and mobility. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1086877088&searchtext= Greetings Faith
In case you didnt notice there is SV version of Spacemoth: It builds few seconds faster than HV version though its more advanced... Used early and late game for cheap transport of 1 player. Very maneuverable. Acceleration low in space due to low tier thrusters.
I have a barebones SV with ZERO HULL BLOCKS... I think yours is plenty forgivable by comparison. Mine has downed all POI Turrets without being defeated for at least 5 POIs minimum, so moral of the story: Ya can get away with some real screwy stuff vs POIs in regards to Ship Building. Also I have a Mining HV build with naked Harvest Boxes i'm proud of, even though everyone i've shown it to on this Forum thus far has given no response on it except Cricket Chirping. ... ...
I never saw these 2 barebones you mention here... I like barebones! That's how I desing my ships, and I try to keep hull blocks count to a minimum. Any links so I can see these ?
I thought I remembered Posting my Tyrax Emergency SV before, but couldn't remember where or when... fortunately using the Ship Name in the Search Box found it promptly! http://empyriononline.com/threads/c...block-limited-vessels.8023/page-2#post-145518 Oh, & the Mining HV is not a barebones... it's just among the smallest & most humble normal creations i've ever made & that caused it to have its stuff really really portablized to the point I had to make Design Sacrifices that had my OCD screaming bloody murder at me over... including but not limited to the afore-mentioned naked exposed Harvest Boxes.
I looked at that thread some time ago when it came up in the list, I missed your post! I like it, like most of the ships on this thread. In fact if they could make devices a bit more sturdy it could open a whole lot of "barebone ships" possibilities for other purposes than combat designs. I really like the ones ricardopr made, like this one for instance: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=740982208 It's not a "combat" design yet it has style and it seems to have a "purpose" (probe in this case), which makes it look closer to reality than many ships based on known sci-fi series. Rucky also had some rigs with antennas I liked a lot, made me thinking of near-future designs that could come from the NASA.
Wow, that Probe looks cool... & for a 'barebones' has more Hull Blocks then my afore-mentioned Mining HV... so I figured 'maybe ya would be interested in the Mining HV after all', so Searched for it & found it... & a Post right after it from you Replying to the Post with the Mining HV in it only really caring about how many Hover Boosters & Landing Pads were on it... so I guess ya were a part of the Cricket Chirping...
Well if you're talking about the "Tyrax mining mole" I saw it, but since I don't see the harvester boxes I thought it was a different HV... It is a much nicer design than most of mine, in fact, so I thought you were talking of a different HV here. But if this can comfort you in any way, know that I have not yet downloaded one single blueprint from anyone here or on Steam, except 1 buggy CV to check for a reported problem I never found. Here is an "almost barebone" SV I made in a previous version. It only has 3 blocks under it I think (and a custom cockpit because O2 & cold...), and I removed the wings because it killed the RCS performance. I only used the wings to put some distance between the spotlights: And I think you saw my barebone HV rig which I spawn & recycle when at the bottom of a deposit; it's very ugly but stable. I think it has not more than 10 devices, and 3 truss blocks. The SV you see up here is a little killer, quite nimble in all axes. Edit: if I could avoid having Steam on my computers I would gladly remove it. I saw the birth of all these "online distribution platforms" and never agreed with the idea of my games been tied with some online "monitor". If anything happens to Steam, what will all the players do to get free access to their games? But the time has passed and everyone now just deals with it, like it or not. I zapped Origin from my system, and if I could do the same with Steam I would do it also. Edit 2: In fact I did more than "chirp" in the background: I asked for details on your HV ! I have no jump booster on my "normal" HV because I just hate the booster.
Yeah, I was talking about the Tyrax Dwarf Mole. (Fun Fact: As i'm typing this, i'd just finished using a Tyrax Dwarf Mole to mine out all the Rock out from under a Talon Guardian Village... ) It has 2 Harvester Boxes... ya can see them sitting between the 2 Side Thrusters on each side. Don't look for a Brown Box, Harvest Boxes are Paintable... look for the 'Pick & Shovel Symbol' sitting on the Box... & it's 2 blocks wide by one width by one high in Dimensions. In my Screenies for the HV, ya'll see one Harvest Box in each HV Side Screenie. Many thanks for the Compliments. Though it's embarrassing that my Mining HV had to keep resorting to "Fishing for Compliments" to ever get any... That's some nice portability. Having that big a Thrusters on something that small... how do ya control that? XD & yeah, Wings & the width they add do intensify RCS need. Also disappointing how hard it is to mount stuff on their ends & have them look good. Still, Wings have their uses. Also fyi Closed Cockpits should protect ya from cold too, though I hear in Survival Play if ya hop into them while they were powered off just before ya turned it on then hopped in, the Cockpit Inside takes awhile to warm up from Space Cold Temps if the SV was sitting in Space before. I can't personally vouch for this though cause I haven't yet checked it out for myself... & keep forgetting to. Steam can sometimes act like it doesn't know how to Code. Edit: Fixed Code Tag dumbassery.
SV_Wasp: Here is my first SV, called Wasp. It's pretty light weight and good maneuvarable. Originally two railguns were attached too, but I didn't want to use any rare materials as this is intented as an early game vessel. Another one, welcome to the club mate! Here take a look at my Alien-Raptor back in pag 1... lol that was a few years back..... And this one on the workshop, Alien-Raptor.... And @Kieve also has some, look back in this thread..... Any of you still remembers those towers in the back? lol
So I've been out of this thread for a while but here is some of my new stuff... Sprite - A medium fighter
Micro Escape Pod. Main feature of this escape pod is its ability to fit 1 large block spaces, allowing for easy installation on ships. Unfortunately because of lack of technological advances, ceiling would obstruct escape pod from exiting larger vessel (cockpit is 3 blocks high), you will have to enter planets face on. Space suit required. On planet cockpit can be replaced with closed type to provide necessary temperature and auto o2. Side devices: Cost and build time. Please fill cargo box with at least 100 fuel packs, 4 emergency rations, 10 oxygen bottles, basic tools (drill, repair tool, o2 generator), motorbike, light source, a weapon and ammo as required by Escape Pod Policy. Additional supplies: fiber plant and edible plant seed. Ingots and construction materials. Advanced tools and weapons. Ammo. Fuel. Devices. A story about shipwreck:
Argo II Transporter This is a redesign of my pre-4.0 multipurpose Argo shuttle craft, now slightly larger and with better equipment integration. With large amounts of cargo storage, support equipment, a large cabin and decent armament, this is the ship that I prefer to use for raiding/looting survival POIs or performing manual mining off-world. Large fuel and O2 stores allow for long powered standby times without worry about constant resource maintenance. It also works great as a general-use shuttle for transporting large amounts of wares to or from planetside or an orbiting CV. B-Strike Raider The B-Strike Raider is a light strike fighter designed for removal of survival POI base defenses and other threats. It is armed with a 15mm gatling gun and four 130mm rocket launchers. This ship has good agility and damage resistance from frontal attack, with a low profile and small footprint. Critical equipment (fuel, O2, generators, cargo storage, ammo boxes, etc) are located under armor behind the cockpit, and are placed with survivability and redundancy in mind. Range and life support is adequate for use as an in-system explorer capable of orbital mining missions and lunar expedition, or as a light space fighter.
Like your second dude, but I think your Argo is overdoing it on the Windows a bit... that's gonna be awful bad on FPS...
I hadn't had any issues with fps over the past several releases using the Argo, but I'm sure you're right . I'll try replacing some of the window blocks and see what happens.
