    (Private server)

    Reproducibility: Always
    Severity: Minor

    Type: Building

Summary: Structural Integrity does not seem to applied consistently

    Description:
placing blocks 1 by 1 works as intended, but when you "draw" a line to place multiple blocks at once, SI seems to break down.

    Steps to Reproduce:
build a line of blocks 10 blocks
on one end, build a tower of blocks 5-10 blocks tall (height doesn't seem to matter much)
    - save this as a 'template snapshot'

build a line of blocks parallel to the ground, from the top of the pillar, 9 blocks out - this will line up with the first row of blocks. place the blocks 1 by 1
Build another tower, connecting the top row and bottom row, placing blocks 1 by 1
-- note this works just fine

    Revert to "template snapshot"
-- repeat the above steps using shift+drag to place multiple blocks at once.

Using shift+drag "draw" a line of blocks parallel to the ground, 9 blocks long
Using shift+drag "draw" a line from the top line to the bottom.

when you release the mouse button, the structure collapses

I used concrete blocks to reproduce the issue.

Have you tried this with the Structural integrity overlay visible ?
Do the blocks at the end of the row turn red ?
Is there support for them ?

Can you show a short video of this happening ?

I believe I duplicated what he was talking about. I think I also see why it's doing it, because if you draw the line from the bottom up, it doesn't break.

    EDIT:
I find it interesting that the click/drag leaves a single block attached at the bottom of the structure every time.

Link to file I used for testing (had to be in survival mode):

DISCLAIMER: I suck at building. Please ignore my trips and stumbles.

    key timestamps:
1:30 - 2:30 "one block at a time" example (I did it wrong the first time, so skip the first min and a half)
2:30 - 3:00 "click and drag" example.... dragging down - I think this is the SI break he described (I'll poke him tonight to verify)
3:00 - 3:30 I tried doing the click and drag UP instead of DOWN--the same way you would have had to do it one block at a time. This worked.
3:30 to end - repeated what he described that "broke"

Video matches what I was trying to do. The main issue is if you are trying to build a platform over water, or a platform over a hillside. When you "draw" lines of blocks from top to the ground, the SI fails.
