More nearby - Im actually fairly certain this wasnt there earlier when I made the initial report..

 

This is old 'bug' and you can find it very easy on planets, and sometimes in space... I took this pictures of 'space bush' in Alpha 9.0.5, and this is on map with in-game generated planets & orbits.

I think that every one I (and others) found on different planets are always at the 'edge on sky' just before you get to space. It is bunch of different trees in orgasmic embrace and you can not chop them

 

Yes I'v seen them on the border or space and in actual space.
It's as if the Z coordinate is messed up somehow

 

I have had something similar but it was Talon POI crops floating around the starting planet in uniform patterns. Started right after I came across my first Talon POI that had the new gardening/market POI. After they rendered, I started seeing only the crops laid out in the same arrangement all around the planet floating in the sky. This was on a friend's private server (Multiplayer) and he's since patched to a newer version. I haven't found a Talon farming area yet so can't tell if it will reproduce.
