No worries at all, in retrospect I shoulda mentioned that in the first post heh. And I agree, restrictions can be good, as long as they don't go too over board. As long as there's a dialogue with the people making the server rules and those playing by them, and all opinions are considered equal, all should work out in the end.
Ehh... I dunno about 'Appendages'... i'm building Ships, not Tentacle Monsters. Also I don't just try to clump all my Thrusters together, I do try to spread them out then often end up with a decent amount of flat surface, then I tend to find myself needing more Thrust to Upgrade my Ship Speed to the acceptable speed level of 'slow' from its prior inadequate speed level of 'snail'. (I love Brawn, but I don't wanna try to fight like a slow lumbering Giant, or i'll die like a Giant.) Also i'm no longer highly worried about my Thrusters's safety, for it's the Cockpit that's always in the most danger, & Thrusters take more beating then I used to think they would, i'd even daresay on par with the Hardened Steel's beating taking power. Speaking of which, I wish the Cockpit Info Panels or something inside the Cockpit would warn ya when the Cockpit's remaining HPs has gotten dangerously low... kinda damn useful thing to know for a SV Pilot in mid-combat. I gotta Experimental Dogfighting CV I hope to test someday as well.
Need a second (or third, or sixth) opinion. Is this too much? It sits with 70 Miniguns, 70 Plasma, 30 Artillery Turrets....not to mention the 21 Pulse Lasers. I'm at the point that I have to replace deco items to make it a class 4 and able to use it on a server. Again, the paint is there for marking at the moment.
It'll need a bit of work, but I think either the Kappa or the Gremlin could do well for that. It's certainly not as swift as the Workshop post linked above, so it will certainly need a bit of work heh Really depends on the server you're on and whatever rules (if any) they may have. If it's for an SP game, then the only limit should be either self-imposed, or to the point where keeping up with the ammo stock becomes too tedious a task. Although in MP, it'd still probably get wrecked by an OP SV, but that's more to do with general game balance than ship design (mainly because CV turrets have a very hard time tracking agile SVs).
Yeah I was wondering if any of the immobile hover turret designs I've seen on the Workshop would do a better job against those.
In my shamelessly biased opinion, there's no such thing as 'Too much Brawn' or 'Too many Guns'... though I can't help but to wonder how easily some of those Guns might accidentally hit some of those other Guns in some circumstances... or at the least, block LoS* to the Enemy Target(s). *LoS = Line of Sight CV Weapons flat out can't hit Enemy SVs moving & flitting around too much, period... thus CVs literally have no Counter to SVs except Ramming them to death, getting a extremely lucky shot onto the SV Cockpit, or lagging the SV to death... & the last one i'd consider an unfair win for the CV & a unfair loss for the SV. The entire strategy CVs go for in regards to their Weapons Design itself needs a 24th Century makeover.
Ya oughta see her Successor, who i'm still awaiting a chance to Test out in actual SV vs SV Combat: Grey Dragon Takes the Brawn up to 11 but is slower & less nimble. Also ditches the cheater Thrusters now that I now know that Iji's way of Thrustering was never able to 'fly'... which is a shame... but she was gonna go out of date sometime regardless.
Here are some Hover Vessels; they are available on the Workshop. Covenant Ghost Lamborghini - Seats 2 and includes a mini-fridge in the dashboard, and constructor in the trunk. Small (tree) Excavator Ferrari F80 Concept Jetboat - 3m mark for hover is right at the water's surface. Use jump to ramp over terrain.
A 300 device, 8804 blocks destroyer I made for the homeworld server. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=772426406
I've got a question: Who likes explosions? I present to you the first official fire test of the so far incomplete Ogre-Class Cruiser against an outdated (Hardened Steel) Gargoyle-Class Destroyer. Sorry for the choppy video at some points, the game wasn't laggy but somehow the recording was. Regardless you can still get a pretty good idea what it can do
