Sorry, not really, there were some old videos once on Youtube, but this even was before dynamic/static playfields were introduced. I once tried to do them myself, but I came to the conclusion, that I am completely useless in this regard. /jmc
Whilst the program is easy to use, the topic itself (i.e. planet creation) can be quite complicated and probably why such a youtube series on what to do hasn't been done yet
Do you get the item icons directly from the game's asset bundles? I am still looking for such a possibility for the EWA so that I am not dependent on Eleon updating the icons in the EAH icon folder
I had already thought that. Is it possible to send me the CustomIcons for "Rise of the Dark Faction" too, because *** thinks that an EHA update, now that Jascha is no longer with us :-( , is not so easy to accomplish
It would be better to make a post in this forum stating what is the goals you are trying to achieve with building planets, and go from there. There isn't even a lot of written documentation on playfield design, much less a video. What I can tell you is biome editing is hard and you should avoid doing it unless you prepared to do a *lot* of testing. Have a 1 planet scenario setup as a testbed to verify your work, because there's pretty much no other way to validate the file except loading it in game.
You can use the SSG to preview biome setup (though it's not supported anymore it does still work for now).
Getting this error whenever I do a first load, cannot seem to resolve it. It seems to not stop me from doing the scenario import tho.
A nice to have for this tool, given the lack of references not syncing correctly with the configs; Give me a setting which allows me to overwrite all POI/Prefab/filter whatever selections with straight text input. It's really annoying to have to bounce between EPD and notepad++ to do editing, I'd rather use one or the other
Not sure if the tool is still alive, but if it is, I got some new things: The new drone base entries now require Type: but nothing else for ground troops (specifically Zirax it seems), so need to add null <will output>, you can probably remove null <no output> Would be nice to show EClassConfig list for dronebase stock, or at least new ones found in vanilla files Need to add errors about DroneBaseSetup, specifically if you don't define any stock with an ID, as the drone base will not spawn if this happens Need to add warnings about DroneBaseSetup, specifically if you don't do the ordering right (fighterDrone > troopTransport), don't spell Infinite correctly, or don't define an Infinite on Troop Transport + 1 troop type (if they exist) Could use a warning on POI, where if Troop Transport = true then you must have a drone base defined. Same for drone spawns of that specific faction This tool is still quite helpful, and I hope to still be using it in the coming years.
I've been using it as a preview tool. It's really, really useful for previewing terrain and biome spawning on a planet and being able to change values in real time to see how it would affect the planet without having to actually go in-game and find a new copy of said planet. It's an invaluable tool, but I don't use it to actually generate the playfield files, only as a preview to configure biomes and terrain.
