Troubleshooting

The POI is a structure, not a CV. One of the version before had a bug, that u can land a CV on planet.

 

That is exactly what im wondering about also, what is the purpose of making someone admin? I can ofcourse give a player telnet acces but that does not make use of setting roles for specific players, which I like to use badly. If I could give anyone such acces so that he can ban a player ingame, I can make my server much more controlled.

About the commands, initadmin is also unknown for me lol (how can i make myself admin when i log in over telnet?). About list, try out list 'admins' (without qoutes) when you have set someone as Admin. Same for 'ban'.

Again I cannot get the server description to work. After the fresh update I did a complete reinstall server side to make sure nothing is interfering. I asked someone at a server that has it work, he said use no quotes so I'm doing that now, ofcourse I also removed the '#'.

Do I have to do anything special, like opening an extra port? Do I have to start a new savegame?

 

This is a cut and paste of my file where the description is working, you have to be careful not to delete the blank spaces in between the bracket at start of description and end , that's all I can come up with.

I do have spaces between the brackets and the text, but I will do some more tests to get it to work.

 

I have a question and problem in one, theres multiplayer server I play on regularly but sometimes it doesn't show up in the multiplayer server list, I know its running cause a steam buddy is playing on it at that time. Things ive tried include restarting the game, resetting router, rebooting PC, scanning pc for malware and checking general internet settings and combinations of afore mentioned. still so far no clue as why this happens, sometimes it does pop up again and sometimes it doesn't.

thats the problem part, the question is:
is there a way to display the dedicated servers status on a web page? just if its running and possibly the amount of players being connected, playfield status would be great too if possible.

Sometimes some servers don't show up, Ive noticed this also, but all I do is refresh the page and it will show up.
Check you haven't got a filter or filter box checked.

Make sure you have the right version of the game, if you have the version filter box checked a heap of the servers disappear.

 

I am having issues with only Omicron and Akua showing up in my orbit. I open the sectors yaml file and just dont uderstand what is wrong or what i have to change. Any help would be appreciated.

I am still not able to get the 'server description' to work.
I think by now I tried every possible thing and many people have it work in a way that does not work when I do that.
Is it a bug?

 

Not before the planets disappeared from my server.

My description works fine.

And there are about 6 servers with it working that I have seen.

But there does seem to be an issue with it because Landon basically copied the one I posted that works for me but it doesn't work for him so, something aint right.

DragoonTT, host of EmpyVerse, is also having problems with it

 

Our Server have a description (search for elinox to find it) ... but there is no support for Linebreaks and the description flicker while the Serverlist load.

I try to make a Video tomorrow and upload it ... today i have to got to bed now.

Edit: Here is the Video ... I'm really go to bed now.

 

It tends to flicker when its refreshing the page, does it heaps for a few seconds and then goes away mostly, will flicker each time it re-freshes, you can click the stop refresh button, not sure if that's working though.

 

thanks for the tips all, i did not have an active filter on, turns out the host was having problems.
also connecting through IP has not been tried as the host did not understand the difference between an internal and external IP. Yes not all people have a complete knowledge of networking or are good with those kind of things and can still host a game decently, hes a good guy just doesnt know that stuff. anyways problem is solved for now.
