I know it can be done, you don't think the Rental server places set up separate servers for each game they hosts do you? not saying I know how but it can be done.
What i think they do right now is they do the same as me, they setup several virtual servers on one physical server hardware and then run one DS on each VM. So i do not think "they" have solved this so they can run several DS on one windows machine but please prove me wrong
I think you are correct in that they have not "tagged" the processes so the game does not know wich game every process belongs to and so on. Maybe they will take a look at this sometime and solve it if they think it should be possible to do this
I have been searching for a while and it is unfortunately something im not so great at. Empyrion is the first game I have ever had my own dedicated server for so im new at this stuff. I really really need some kind of way to set a player as an admin or moderator that can remove blocks. cores, armour, items etc. Even if I have to do it myself. Is there a way to do this? My server is hosted by blackbox servers. I use a third party program to monitor players and chat while not being online myself. And I have learnt how to add planets etc. But I need a tool or player to go in and remove things when needed. If there is already a thread i do apologise. But hours of trying to find something up to date and relevant is difficult!
Contact piddlefoot on this forum. He's a in house tester and runs a server as well. He may even see your post and reply.
dedicated server blue screen hello guys i tried to run a dedicated server , i saw several tutorial about it i followed every step but i always getting this blue screen does anyone know what's the problem? thanks
@ Meurtre83 go into the Empyrion folder and find the Dedicated data folder and delete it. Then go to steam and right click on Empyrion and go to properties and then local game files and click on 'verify game cache' that will replace any missing or corrupt files, then start the dedi exe again and see if it fixes it. @ Little Abby , find the Empyrion folder, go into the saves folder so you can locate the file called ''adminconfig'' open it with notepad or wordpad, it will look like this in its default setting... --- # Admin Configuration # This file can contain two lists: one with elevated players with special permissions # and one with banned players. # 'Id' is a SteamID64 in both lists, lookup possible at https://steamid.io/ # 'Permission' is 1 for 'Moderator' and 2 for 'Admin' - other values are not allowed. # 'Until' is the time when the ban ends.
@piddlefoot i did what you recommended to me no it's working i have the save and exit button , say etc , now how i can launch the server?
but i can't find it when i launch a multiplayer game what am i doing wrong sir? ok i managed to get in by typing the IP adress but it still won't show up in the list , and does anuone know how to setup a creative dedicated server? i changed the yaml but it still dont work thx
it's probably not getting through your firewall, you should be able to play it locally by entering the IP address. to get it to show you will need to configure your router
Is your friend playing on your network or remotely? if they are local then you probably still need to get port forwarding worked out on your router
Hi there ... I got some Problems since the last update ... My dedicated server is not listet in the ingame lists anymore ... The update overwrites my server config, so I edit the patched file to handle my server files again. So now i can connect to my own server direct via 127.0.0.1 again ... no problems ... but 1. the server is not listed and 2. my friends cannot connect to it... Ports are forwarded in the router ... before the last patch it was ok too ... I have no idea why it dosnt work now =( Has anybody any idea ? Greetings Visha
Have you also edited the YAML. file to reflect the port forward number ? Did you have a black out and or has the modem re-set to default settings without you realizing ? Did you edit any other game files at all, like the sectors YAML. or anything ? Are you running a dedicated server or are you running a single player game that people can connect to ? Your ip connection you have there is a LAN ip by the look of it.
