For more information see here Bug Report Template

    Build: v1.13.3 4803
    Game environment:
    Platform: Steam
    DLC Installed:No
    SEED-ID:

    If applicable:
    SERVER NAME: Not relevant

    If applicable::
Are you using any unofficial mods or custom maps ?:No

Reproducibility: 100% (as far as I can tell)

    Severity:
    Very annoying

    Summary:
While on a planet, if a lone pilot exits the cockpit, the SV or CV will start slowly falling on its own, even if it has sufficient thrust to maintain altitude (which it was able to do with the pilot in the cockpit).

    Description:
Even though a ship has enough thrust to maintain its altitude on a planet, once the pilot leaves the cockpit, the ship (SV or CV) starts falling on its own. If the pilot then enters the cockpit again, it stops falling. Once the pilot exits the cockpit again, the ship starts falling again.

If the pilot leaves the cockpit, but enters a passenger seat, the ship stops falling. Even if the pilot leaves the passenger seat afterward, the ship seems to maintain its altitude, in contrast to leaving the cockpit.

However, this effect does not seem to occur if the server was stopped and restarted and the pilot (while piloting the ship) was already on the planet and never left it.

It does happen if the pilot then leaves the planet (while piloting the ship) and spends at least around 30 seconds in space before re-entering the planet. If the amount spent in space is shorter, ~10 seconds, before re-entry, then this effect does not seem to happen.

If the pilot was already in space (while piloting the ship) and the server was stopped and then restarted, and then the pilot entered the planet (while piloting the ship), the effect does happen.

I've tested this effect with the following 3 stock blueprints:
    - Ascalon Eclipse VII
    - Manta Dropship
    - CORE Arashi

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Create a new dedicated server (survival), scenario: default multiplayer.
    2) Join server.
    3) Start on Akua.
    4) Enable god mode, item menu state, and set spawning of blueprints to allow.
    5) Spawn one of the ships listed above (but I don't think the specific ship matters).
    6) Grab fuel and O2 from the item menu and fill the ship with both (and then trash both fuel and O2).
    7) Get near the cockpit, disable god mode, and enter the cockpit.
    8) Fly the ship out of the planet.
    9) Spend at least 30 seconds in space (~10 seconds is insufficient).
    10) Re-enter planet.
    11) Get out of cockpit.
    12) Wait about 30 seconds or so (the effect does not seem to happen immediately).
    13) Re-enter cockpit.
    14) Exit cockpit.
    15) The ship will start falling on its own.

Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
    - I have tested this in single player, it the effect does not seem to occur there.
    - Initially, I thought maybe having a block directly above the open cockpit (in the case of the Ascalon Eclipse VII) caused a collision which would cause the effect. However, I removed all the blocks in a single block radius above the open cockpit and did the test, and the effect did happen, indicating that this was not caused by a collision with the pilot and the block immediately above. Also, the Core Arashi, being a closed-cockpit SV still caused the effect, which supports this.
    - Once the effect begins, using god mode to move to a different ship that's maintaining altitude by itself, and then disabling god mode will cause that ship to fall once the player lands on it.
    - It seems that once the effect happens, no matter what you do, it keeps happening, on every ship, with the exception of restarting the server and never leaving the planet, as stated above.
    - The pitch of the ship does not seem to matter; maintaining level with gravity the whole time still causes the effect.

I swear I had reported this before.
Anyway, here's a video of the behavior in question:

I couldn't find it when I did a quick search if you had indeed reported it before.
    Maybe they couldn't reproduce it?
I know I had experienced it all the time while playing, but when it came to actually trying to reproduce it in a controlled environment, I couldn't get it to do it reliably initially; I had to spend quite some time (a few hours) to figure out how to reproduce it 100%, as you might be able to tell with my original post.
