All Part of the Plan. On the Arid Planet you start the Mission Series by hitting F1 and activating the 'Prelude' by hand. That is why the Arid Planet as well as Swamp and Ice, are meant for the 'more experienced' Players and always have been.
Okay, so the quests are manual start intentional on the harder starters? good to know. Doesn't change the issue with the starting ore deposits, though
In the mission to the Heidelberg, the player says: “I need to get off that damn planet first”. It should be “I need to get off this damn planet first”.
Please remove all references to "the training planet" from the questline. I ran into that somewhere "similar to the one on the training planet". Huh? what? I know that's a reference to the tutorial, but many people skip tutorials, and how would these aliens know where I trained? Edit: I restarted for 3366, but if I find it again, I'll get a screenshot or something
The landing zone within Talon Territory is nothing to worry about. You'll get to friendly and Free Ore Mining within just talking to the Chief. After that you can proceed or ...
Would be plausible, but should be communicated to Newbies in a VERY clear way before they are choosing a Starter Planet.
Most 'Newbies' start where they want as they..."have their own play style and play always on hard settings and therefore here as well"! So if warned or not..most of them won't read it or listen to it.
... Crashed Birds, The Appointment. Speaking to Commander Carver does not advance the step saying to speak to him (have to do it manually)
I mentioned earlier somewhere about references to the "training planet". Here's the one I saw (it's in the conversation with Kezzel). How the heck does this guy, who I just met, know what I experienced in training? Very jarring to the plot, especially if you skipped the tutorial / training planet. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....002/01AB7D4902BAF6E23E06BBC795C6AEF4EAED3166/
This confuses me. I didn't get the new portion with the escape pod (your gear being on the ground) but the quest chain started automatically when I picked Arid. I was prompted to find the "small settlement". The debris field and mineral deposits on my start were not in Talon territory though the settlement was close.
I am not sure if the way the Pod crashes on the Temperate Planet will come to the Arid/Ice/Jungle Planet as well. - Changed: Added 'Prelude' story mission chapter for manual activating the story after rejecting Robinson Protocol.
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, so apologies if it has been: The entire Top Distillery is lootable--including the alien loot crates. Easiest loot crates ever....
@Hummel-o-War : Is it intentional there are no drone attacks when you mine asteroids in the starter zones? The only place I could get them to trigger was in the zone of my starter planet. The Snow planet, Barren planet (Ilmarinen?) and the asteroid field, I didn't get any. It's possible that I just didn't get a roll of the dice in those zones, but I have drone attacks set on high, and I was TRYING to trigger them to test something... I had to go back to the starter zone and find an asteroid I hadn't yet to get them to spawn...
Mining an asteroid is not a trigger for drone attacks. They might attack ou when you are mining and they fly past you because they are on their patrol route. Probably the drones in the playfield were from factions you had at least a neutral standing with?
um, it used to be? I used to go into space and have to watch carefully, lest I get attacked while mining. Drones, and sometimes small vessels would show up. If this mechanic has been removed, then the game has gotten tons easier. And I WAS attacked (en masse) when I tried to mine the prom asteroid in the starting world orbit (and iron, too, I think).
