i absolutly hate the new helmet light itself+mechanic, because building in creative: 1.it is waaay to small in terms of diamater 2.when building in creative you want to remove the helmet to remove the screen dimming from the helm to get better visuals, but then you remove the light. so i have to build with the helmet on ... for gameplay it is good do not get me wrong, but it is horrendes for building, because in space it forces the player to build with helm, because you need the light, i can not change the sun direction in space ;/

thx, i know of these "helper lights" and might have to use some in the future. my point is simply that these should not be mandatory in a mode that is intended for building.(+they distort the color, kinda why i did not use them before) in space this is very noticeable on dark places if compared to before. the limited light cone really narrows the impression you get and increases time investment when building. if i want to check an area i have to either pan around more (because the light is so small) or angle the build to the sun (aka time to respawn a build) or place a light source (which i need to remove later, aka more time). yes all is minor stuff, but it adds up. another example when changing color of a block you want to see the block, so you have to move the block to the side of the screen (any side), because the color panel blocks the middle. this way you see the block in real time and the color change/adjustment you make. before the light would be big enough to light that block on the side too. now the light cone is so small it is blocked by the color panel almost entirely. you just have some tinycorner on top you have to excatly line up so the light hits you blocks. again do not get me wrong, in terms of gameplay i think the new light is great, but for building it is crap and a big step back in creative mode that deperatly needed some QoL-changes even before this. as for other things in general i like the update 1.9. visual feedback we get from the jetpack was a much needed change. weapon handling adds way more immersion then i thought, new weapon models look good.
Can't call myself waiting for "Character Controller & Model" but I'm happy to see lot's of annoying bugs fixed Also looking forward to those AI improvements, this will freshen the game a lot. Earlier it was fun to see two different faction ships fighting and joining them at some point.
