So I started the Empyrion session tonight a little wary as I knew I would have to search around a dead planet for bits of salvage and I was concerned it would be a bear... but, after assembling a minimal HV and then pinging the area I found: and my emotional state did a 180. Oh my gosh! Then I found this at the center: by god, it even has showers! And an Advanced constructor! The problem I found out quickly(although the core was sneakily hidden) was that the base would not turn on, firstly, due to the p-gen being saved in the off state(which is fine, even expected I just forgot,) but secondly, because it was wwwwaaaaaayyyy over the CPU limit. So I set about multi-tooling many bits and bobs, and then I decided to make it purdy again: In fact, this is so nice that it is better than the first base I made! Soooo, what started as a harrowing experience has unexpectedly turned into a crazy cool find! I then expanded the little HV a bit and set out to find what else was out there... and, Kabam! a kilometer to the south was one of the giganto shuttles. Granted I had seen that radar contact before, but to have even more stuff so nearby! That POI is tricky because I think it has a dual core(either that or the last time I tried to core it two POIs spawned on top of each other - been known to happen.) But ya see, I kinda wanted to keep going.... aaaaannnnnddddd, poof! The Elysium Towers and mining pit were new to me: Also, @ravien_ff this is a cool sand dune arrangement: So, disaster turns into constructive opportunity. That is a great feeling. Not even sure if I want to loot it all, but it is nice to know that it is there. I also found the emergency signal and I bet that is part of the Progenitor quest line, which is something I still have not done yet due to building and testing, so I think my next order of business is to find a UCH ship and start the quest; presuming that the quest starts there. It may not.
Over the last few days built this lot; also updated some other builds and re-submitted on forum 4 bay ship parking (orbit) 2 bay ship parking (orbit) [WLT] Cargo Freighter [WLT] Fuel Freighter [WLT] O2 Freighter [WLT] Stolen Freighter
Yes, we've had this conversation before - and as I said then, I have no doubt that their German/Dutch/anything other than English is infinitely better than mine. Mein Duetsch ist ganz schlecht. Ich schreibe niemals auf deutsch, weil es so schlecht ist. I am willing to admit it and have people laugh at it; others should too.
I say only I don't find those last line to be funny. In what ever context it is written. In RE the Text is not from the Vanilla game and written by a native English speaking Person. So the Line HAS been written that way intentional. Your Opinion - Funny. My Opinion - not funny. So what?
That's insulting. Not just "not funny". But knowing where it comes from it makes it even worse, and I have mentioned it a few times now. Because most players have no clue about what is involved in making a game they are easily misled into believeing the guys working on RE/ PE/RG are "as good if not better" than Eleon's employees working on the core game and they take every opportunity they get to bash on the game and Eleon, yet they would have nothing to brag about if they didn't give us all this modding latitude. Another reason why I'm not going to poke these scenarios even with a 2m long stick. I have been looking at this bad joke from the start, and this disgusting ego show from some players, spitting on developers just to try to stand on their shoulders, is as disgracious a display of immaturity as it can get. And it's not just here but also on Steam, and if it was my call I would just kick the morons out of here so they could learn some manners.
Playing through the new(er) version of teh abandoned bunker POI. Absolutely. Brilliant. Epic. Possibly the best one so far.
No, stay. I am critical that you tried to rationalize such inappropriate behavior(*waggles finger*,) but this is the "What did you do in Empyrion today thread" and I want you to stay. My primary ire is towards the person that wrote that bit of game dialogue, not the messenger.
Actually we could find ourselves lucky that you found/saw this dialogue so steps could be taken to erase this.
I support what @Fractalite suggests : have this dialogue snapshot be exposed and let it be seen, and thanks for posting it. I don't hold it against you, it may look "funny" at first but when put in context of lots of other similar statements which you have not seen, on threads and in the "secrecy" of a scenario (knowing the devs have very little time to play it and find for themselves), that is not funny anymore. And you are not the one who should apologize.
Fair points @Fractalite and @Germanicus . I consider myself a good-natured sort and thought the author's intent was to be funny. If it's not found so then you're right, a correction would be nice. Both ravien_ff and Vermillion seem like positive people who would mean no offence to anyone, so I don't think meanness was the intention.
Let the ones who were targeted by the "joke" be the judges of that. You obviously do not want to antagonize the mods/ scenario's authors so that makes you a bad candidate for objectivity. I can speculate too on other's intentions, but I prefer to rely on what I have seen and read instead. I'm not going to tell you about your past or personal experiences because I know nothing of it, and I think the same applies to you regarding others, so I suggest that what you may think here may not be shared by everyone, including me.
Today I worked some more stuff for the scenario and made this preview video of what can be added to trading stations using decals. Eventually I want to add a bunch of different lights and advertisements to trading stations to give them some life. Then later my brother and I teamed up to rid ourselves of the pesky Kamirat that kept attacking us in orbit around our home planet. We had never taken one on before in vanilla, never mind in Reforged so we really did not know what to expect. But the hardest part was finding the core. I was surprised the SV gunship I was flying was actually doing pretty well and actually doing better than the CV my brother was flying. It's nice that a SV could have a role to play even in mid or end game content.
Just read the latest posts. Yes that dialog has already been removed from the scenario (servers need to update of course, I can't control that). I didn't know it was in the scenario until recently and I agree it crossed the line so we took it out. I can't speak for Vermillion, but I can say that I too can get frustrated at times with some of the decisions that the devs make but it's not okay to take it out on them or anyone else and I'm sorry. Not going to make excuses or ignore it, but it has been taken care of. All I can offer is removal of the dialog, an apology, and to not repeat it. Ultimately I make this scenario for fun (and I hope Vermillion does as well) and I want to keep things positive and good natured. Things like that don't belong in the scenario, and certainly it's never my intention to hurt anyone.
