Me: wow, all these new block variations are FANTASTIC for my creativity... [Creates another box with wings] Scoob.
Vic sat at his desk, poring over the latest blueprints from his Master Shipbuilder, skipping over schematics, loadouts, rosters, he reached the final page.. "244kT? 840,000 Iron Ingots!!" he exclaimed at Ooj. "you know there's not that much iron in the entire solar system right?" O_O
Introducing, Progenitor. Designed to be a step up from my other HV, Fantasy. So; heavier, even more aggressive armament, VERY fast for it's weight, agile, and not too expensive for it's potency. It does not have an artillary turret, but both shoulders have positions for them - I had a difficulty here as I built the ship for symmetry and there is a current limit of 1 for the Arty turrets. If they change this I will update the design. Will glide and maneuver in the air. Reaches into the game code and changes the game type from "survival" to "sit back and eat space fries while obliterating alien, critter, and trees alike" Steam link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=805199566 Enjoy! It flies!
Progenitor best viewed while listening to: My building soundtrack list: Even though I am not really a dubstep fan, it is fun sometimes.
Been a few days, what with everything. The good news: I have a new job! *celebration* So, to mark the occasion, my friend and I did a duel in space. My Whirlwind versus his cube. Well, sadly, we found that the AI aiming code is REALLY flawed, right now. His turrets chose the oddest spots to fire at on my ship. Meanwhile, with my direct-fire homing rockets... Here's the aftermath: This was hella fun, and I look forward to the day where we can do big space/fleet battles with CVs bombing each other while SVs duel in between heavy plasma fire! Happy T-Day to everyone in the US. To everyone else, have a lovely day! --Brian
Finally got some progress done with a civvy building for the colony stuff. Background is a greenhouse concept I may or may not keep. Didn't come out quite as interesting as I'd wanted.
No NASA themed stuff today. Went back to my survival game, and finished my CV. Designed and built completely in survival. The Atmora: Designed to be a very basic CV - not much in the way of amenities, actually. Just a fancy warp drive designed made to look like an older model - something simple to build for an engineer who'd never built an entire large warp-capable ship solo before. Took some inspiration from Battlestar Galacitica, but she's a pretty cramped ship on the inside. Getting from section to section involves stepping out, as it were, truss-enclosed walkways.
Nice design, I like some of the detailing. What is the RP behind the differing colored "containers" on each side of the ship? Oxygen and water?
Before I head off to eat too much and whilst trying to hide from the family(quite the acrobatic feat,) I was playing around with the image posted with my collection: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=802943801 It is kinda blurry? Is there anyway to adjust that or is it something that steam does? Should I find an image from elsewhere on the internet?
That looks like what happens when Light Sources like Spotlights are too close to their targets & hitting them with too much Light 'Brawn'. When they do this to me, this tends to signal to me that it's time to get in my Spotlight Ship & scoot it back some Meters.
NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Real nice. I like it a lot. Is she battle ready ? This ship would be great for role playing
@Fractalite RP wise I went for a design that might have been a bit dated, but something an engineer might have worked on for a tenure - enough they knew it well and it'd be the first thing they'd try to construct if they needed to build a warp capable ship but had never built anything on that scale. My concept was an old hydrogen fusion reactor/main engine system. The different colors for the hydrogen tanks, was a bit spur of the moment inspired by bipropellant rocketry. Much of the materials in this ship are also scavenged, thus everything else pretty much is the standard gray sheet metal you find on PoIs. @banksman45 she has two minigun turrets with limited fields of fire - but no other armaments. I was going to give the hull a once-over and make the outer layer at least hardened steel, but the only quality protection is the blast shields set away from the outer hull. Most of the rest, the hull is just one block thick (although there is a lot of superfluous blocks made to look like the machinery is more complex than the game makes it), so no I wouldn't call it battle ready. There are redundant RCS, but it only has 2 small thrusters for each axis except the main engines. It's maneuverability could easily be upgraded, along with some extra guns, and it might make a decent corvette class... But not great.
