If they're not gonna make their Quadruped Mechs look like Animals, like Tigers, Lions, Wolves, Bears, etc., then why bother? Know how ya feel. I'm agonizing over my Internal External Jet Thruster Build... It's taking enough Blocks to Armor Wrap them up like Pigs in a Blanket that it's weighing more then the Thrust of the Jet Thrusters + needed number of RCS can handle. It's getting to look like Internal External Jet Thrusters are not only gonna not break anything Game Balance-wise, but they may be outright non-viable as a strategy entirely. It appears that we really do just have to stick them on the outside where everything can just blow them off... >_< I might stick to non-Jet Thrusters for future Builds. Yes, Enemy Turrets have gotten their HPs buffed, & other difficulty boosting buffs lately.
On your mark, get set, Go! Wow, the 1B flies! It is a rocket! Weeeeeeee! That was fun! BIG fan of the additions! 1A proved to be a bit too sluggish with turning, but is a tad cheaper so it could have its place. I will add the 1B version to the workshop and give you the appropriate credit. Thank you Siege, I like your ideas!
Micro Redux. I like that. Thanks for the shout out. =) And you know if you end up keeping the 1A version you could replace the rocket turret with another minigun to make it cheaper yet.
It wasn't the appearance, really - I don't have anything against Zoids, Voltron, etc. Where BTech is concerned, they just feel like novelty items. By game rules, 'Mechs can mount all kinds of weaponry in the arms, while legs have very few "slots" available. Quads have four legs and no arms... I'm sure you can see the disadvantage there.
I created this mostly because I am hilarious: Introducing, Explorer's Cube. Meant to be a level 3 easy to reach HV for zooming around Akua or Omicron. If you are really strapped for resources, my cheaper HV Light-Cycle would be a better bet: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=807243730 but their are needs at all resource points, and this one fills the 240 - 260 iron range pretty well. Kinda fun, as you progress, it still has room in it's interior for both a fridge and an ammo box.... and each cube face is 3 x 3.... just sayin... Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=809826049 Enjoy! Off to explore the great wilds of Akua!
OK thanks.. Sniping the turrets take forever now so I tried my SV and I finally took out the turrets but my ship took a beating as you can see. lol I guess the HP BUFF is a good thing, it makes things more entertaining.
I tried the External Jet Thrusters on an SV - once. I tend to build small (Easier to harden, harder to hit) and agile. My experience was that they work great if you want to kamikaze at high speed into an enemy turret.
"B.TECH | The Largest Retailer for Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics in Egypt." #LOL#HASHTAG i encapseld them between 2 wings does its job in pve dont know about pvp
I told the Aliens I would be back and this time I finished it!! This planet is mine!! ha ha ha . lol They have really buffed these bases even some of the NPCs waking around inside the base are taking almost all of my bullets.
Today I landed my CV on Akua, eventually settled down next to the MS Titan mid section, a stone's throw from my target: the drone base. First order of business though, is to build an outpost where I can craft ammo for the assault. Once Akua is defanged I plan to build... a lot. Civilian type structures. Have some fun RPing a settlement of crash survivors indistrializing. Then.... then I will build ships bigger, better, and in awesome factories and things.
Thanks for putting it up. I was afraid neither of you would decide to do it and it looks like a fun thing to make. Most likely that will be my project this weekend, learning how to download the blueprints and build the ship and get the resources together.
this isn't anything new, but I spawned in the tier 2 CV, ripped out the core, and with console commands, dropped in an alien core and took ownership. unlimited fuel for days!
My current project If you've seen the Brutus Mining Hulk on the workshop? This is his bigger cousin, the Ogre. The smaller ships in the picture are mining rig SVs designed to dock in the hold of the Ogre(although it can only fit one). I'm also working on building some defensive turret HVs that can dock with the Ogre. The plan is to land on a node and deploy the defensive turrets while you''re mining from the rig. When you're done simply pack everything up and move on. A couple closeup shots of the mining rigs: Spoiler And a pic of a mobile artillery HV I came up with. Unfortunately it's not going to be suitable for use with the Ogre. It's rather unstable at the moment. I think I'll try widening the feet and see how that goes. It's still very much a work in progress. When that's done I'm going to build an oil rig/offshore platform type base to go with the Ogre.
& no Slots for Turrets Mounted onto their Backs, or other such...? That really is very Negated Moment of Awesome. That is totally Mechs done wrong. Yeah, I dunno if I really can give up on them quite so easily, I might just never use them for any GMT Build. ... That's so crazy it just might work! Well... if I can find any combo of Wings & Placement that can adequately look like the Wings & Jet Thrusters are actually connecting to each other or at least close enough!
A fun hint for you - you can dramatically reduce the time it takes to spawn by converting ingots into components and then dropping them in the slot to add things to the Factory. Some good things to build along these lines - control devices use 1 copper, 1 silicon, and 1 cobalt; electronics 1 copper and 1 silicon; Pipes - metal plates that take iron ingots. Also, converting left over loot from drones and alien POI's can help immensely - fully deconstruct everything with the multi-tool, even the lights, and you can gather the needed resources for just about all the of the lighter vessels(even CV's) very quickly.
I am combining auto miners with O2H2 generators and large constructors. Kinda colonial base building Could mimic a nuclear power plant!
It's also worth it to re-core a segment of the MS Titan and then deconstruct that. A game day's work with the multitool will yield around 3000 steel plates plus the odd bits from lights, deco pieces, as well as advanced CPUs from the mid and aft section thrusters.
