So, last night, our Faction on Unknown Skies began to take control of our new home. Six Sathium 'roids were identified and secured. Black Squig Squadron, consisting of a pair of my Typhoons (Now on Block C), and a Storm, for cargo and logistics. We were joined, later, by one of our home-brewed armed runabouts, the Phoenix, piloted by Sterrrn. We struck at the Alien Base, defended by three defense satellites, making high speed firing passes until the turret defenses were down. We then moved in and took down the core, after a few sentry-turret-related-deaths. We then swept out to the Alien Trading Station, where we knocked out its defenses, and took it over. This established our presence in the debris field of Ceti Alpha V. Then, it was off to Ceti Alpha IV, where we dispatched four Ghost Rider bases, rendering them down into delicious steel plates. Our reward? An Epic Laser Rifle to join our Epic Plasma Rifle. Finally, this morning, Points and Briareos attempted to land a beachhead on Ceti Alpha VI. It, like our first attempt to scout the planet, did not go well. We will have to descend in force from orbit, in order to secure a forward base. Their scouting reports have identified a good landing location, which we hope to be able to defend from Colossii-dropping Troop Transports, and multitudes of Heavy Drones. This evening, a leisurely time repairing the damage we did to the station. Not much, in all honesty. We were fairly precise in our strafing runs, a testament to our growing anti-PoI skills. Skills, I suspect, will be put to the test in Alpha 5. We then gave it a coat of new paint in Con=Am colors, and gave it a new name. Regula One. I leave you with this vista, because, sometimes, Empyrion generates some beautiful scenery. Sunrise greets the barest crescent of Ceti Alpha VI rising above Ceti Alpha IV. I hope everyone is enjoying Empyrion as much as we are! ALSO: I'd like to give a shout-out to the Admin/Owner of Unknown Skies. Our custom playfield glitched (I put one element too close to another), and EVERYTHING despawned. He checked out the sitch, and then helped me get stuff spawned back in. We were back up and running in a day. BIG THANKS. UNS is really an awesome server, and I encourage everyone to come and check it out. --B.
Introducing, Ithil. A ssssuuuuuupppppeeeerrrr super super super fast, tiny, and well-armed survival SV. Since some of the thrust changes introduced in versions 4.x I have been very unhappy with the SV acceleration and agility. This is a frustration that is sort of, over-arching, and extends to most of the designs on the workshop and my own designs. Ithil fixes all of that. Nigh instantaneous acceleration forwards, backwards, and both vertical directions up and down. Can turn on a dime, and the 3 rocket launchers will mince most POI weaponry(you will still need to dodge though as Ithils strength is its speed NOT its armor.) Ithil does lack an oxygen station and constructor, but there is room on its frame for both if you really want it. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=813226268 Enjoy! Edit: Perks also include: Ithil is incredibly cheap!
Sooooo, if you want to see a modest, not at all intimidating, tepid design: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=813125289&searchtext=
Not a Glitch. It's simply a matter of the Water is cheater Band Aid Fix Water that's not Volumetric. Been there. That's the time when Inspiration can be a real help. I dig what ya did with the Wings! You're right. That dude is not Intimidating... but hopefully can be in the future after the Band Aid Fix Weapon Max Count goes away.
I did this today. Well, not all of them. But I finished the Ogre and decided to take a group pic. Still doing some testing and going over them for the last time. I'll probably upload them tomorrow sometime if everything checks out.
I should be in bed about half an hour ago, but I couldn't out down my ship... As yet unnamed destroyer class starship. Outer hull is combat steel. Agile. Armed to the teeth. Sports 4x pulse lasers, 2x artillery turrets, and 4x cannon turrets. Survivability in evasive capability and redundant key systems rather than heavy armor layers. Interior is defended by sentry turrets protecting the airlock and the bridge, which is buried deep in the ship with the critical systems. Amenities for a crew of 16 in cramped conditions. No food production. Supports two recessed docking ports for specialized fighter craft with two additional seats apice. This ship is geared for short duration missions, either for heavy fire surgical strikes, or as relatively cheap firepower to be produced en mass for large engagements. The interior is finished but not painted - I only just finished the paint job outside, paused for that pic, and now I really really really need to be in bed. Thanks to @Fractalite for the frame that I stole. It gave me great practice creating a deck floor plan with.... interestingly shaped interior spaces.
Trying to come up with a bridge layout for my Galaxy Variant: Still dreaded by the thought, of painting the whole thing, lol.
Hey man, my pleasure. I am glad you got such joy out of it. Slap that thing on the workshop and then link. I would like to see what you did. After you get some sleep of course - I understand this difficulty, as Empyrion has caused me many a sleepless night. You wanna know what does not help - heading to the grocery store and purchasing Virgil's rootbeer and then pouring it over crushed ice to then sip as you build ****. Kinda awesome.
Fractelite? How about a level one buildable CASTLE!!! I have three versions of this in my workshop, one with a wooden wall and one with all the needed appliances
I'd be surprised if they didn't. How would Cheater Band Aid Fix Water suffice in a Final Release? ETA on it though is unknown.
Add more screen shots of the interiors! To do so, find the .png files in the Empyrion game folder, open them with MS paint, and then re-save them as .jpg - steam will then let you add them to the carousel when you open the workshop site. I want to see the interiors even if they are empty.
Introducing, Beast. A level 5 hovercraft that has all the essentials and will make the Ziraxians think twice before attacking you. Maybe not as fast as I like, but it is named BEAST and is plenty agile while still possessing average speed. After playing around with this design, I kind of feel like there is more here - as in, either with this design or another, I suspect that the various builders out there could further it or build others that are better. Like say, SV's, CV's, or even bases that fit the tentacle feel. Definitely not for PVP.... although you might want to spawn it to show it off to your alien girlfriends. Beast is always a hit. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=813578363 Enjoy! Beast is hunting.... You.
Now it said build a ship . So I did. Do I still get credit for this ? lol The way the HVs work now we could technically have Pirate ship battles in Empyrion if we really wanted too. lol
