Played Survival mode for the first time in months and i found out that building stuff in creative and just flying around is much more fun to me, lol.
Nothing wrong with that. I like the extra effort you have to do for your builds, materials wise and keeping yourself alive. But I can understand someone not bothering with that and just enjoying the building.
Then i'm gonna check my Mobile Constructors one more time & if i'm still not seeing this like you are, it's Bug Report time... For the Topic: I'm working on a Mining CV for future WASD Games Server play. I managed to gt it from start to nearly Structurally Complete in one go & hope to finish it tomorrow, including Painting, Texturing, & Test Driving. While working on this dude, I had funny Daydreams of if there was someday such a thing as Resource Asteroids full of Hydrogen for no reason at all whatsoever... this is what I get for staying up too long into the night being addicted to building while feeling more then a little very tired.
After much searching and faffing about, I found an armoured golem! After making a tactical withdrawal to my ship to offload my guns and equipment, I worked up the courage to fuel up my chainsaw and I started making my way back to the base, to commence honorable melee battle against the golem... then my timer went off and I realised dinner was ready, FIGHT POSTPONED. Tonight you will find out whether I bask in the glorious light of victory, or I have to admit defeat and level the POI with high powered weaponry.
You highlight one of the great virtues of EGS, that you can play it pretty much your way. Hoping that aspect doesn't get refined out of the game as time goes by.
I play with creative mode a lot because it is like it's own game mode and I love building stuff. Even if I never use it in a real game. Well you could play survival with console commands if you just want to build and shoot stuff. Some people play that way. That way you can have access the itemmenu's in survival that has to all the blocks and resources, build what you want and fly around shooting stuff. Whenever I am in a Sci Fi mood I will start a special survival game and use the console command download a Star trek or Star gate ship and go around pretending like I am star fleet captain or a member of Star gate SG1 .lol It's pretty fun that way too but I still like playing real survival because after a while I got used to mining and crafting stuff. It can be pretty relaxing.
Just landed back on the moon and had the urge to do this for some weird reason.. lol "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"
Had to raid a base to get the material I need to build another SV after one of the drone bases took out my last one. No more normal steel for this guy. lol I upgraded to harden Steel and added a homing missile missile. I don't know what to call her but UMM it has this weird ufo slash school bus vibe to it .lol I'm determined to master the open cockpit build but it's fun trying to build things out of it.. lol
Nice and practical. I learned my lesson after having to walk home when drones shot my SV to pieces - twice.
Thanks!!! I had to run back to my base crafted another core and fly what was left of my last sv back to the base . Which was kind of hilarious.
It finally happened! I have to apologise for lack of commentary, my mic just picks up horrible humming noises so it would have sounded terrible. EDIT: It seems to have upped itself to HD now, happy days!
I thought it wouldn't get stunlocked and would beat the crap out of me! Annoyed I took that first hit as it was just standing there doing nothing lol. The hilarious thing now is that I'm getting destroyed in the base by the sentry guns now! They're harder than the golem!
Glorious Victory! I'm amazed the Chainsaw was able to Stunlock a big heavy armored dude like that! XD Only cause they cannot be Stunlocked.
Great stuff vs the golem, well done --------------------- Because of the new update, I thought it was about time to start fresh. This time I went to Ningues. Have to say, its a lot harder than Akua! I feel like surviving. Meat is relatively easy to come by. I wonder if one of these is the new raptor - oviraptor? Have to say, every now and then I just stop and amaze the new visuals. Stunning! Got my shack together and realised Im out of materials for turret. Well, im gonna wait for few drone waves to loot them & build a cannon. Sweet irony. Im starting to appreciate the drone loot, its actually pretty good. I was spoiled by akua.
My new Mining CV is complete! Spoiler: Warning: "Box Ship Haters" may find the below Pics Offensive to their Eyes. Front View: Designed for Solo Piloting so I decided 1 Mining Turret was plenty enough. Also has some Combat Power for PvP some amount of Defense... if this dude was a Heroes of the Storm Character, i'd Classify it as a "Specialist". Right Side View: Please don't blame me for the lack of CV Wing Blocks. Rear View: Homers on the buttocks for firing on Pursuers as I attempt to Evade long enough to Warp. I figured Homers would be nigh unaffected by my own scooting & flitting around. Left Side View: You're not listening to me & still blaming ME for the "Box Shipedness" aren't you? *Glares accusingly* Screw the 'Not having enough Flair!'! Flair doesn't get Mining done more efficiently or make one fight better dammit! *Puts Foot down* Top View: Ya know what? In addition to CV Wing Blocks, CV "Mohawk Blocks" could be an interesting idea too... better then a boring Bald Head, huh? Bottom View: Not easily seen: The Entryway into the Ship. Bonus Pic - My first ever use of Frigidman's Epic Symbols Webpage:
I got H2 bottles of about 20k from Aqua's H/O gen because I had forgotten presence it. Truly was troublesome to throw away O2 bottles. And tired to making Fusion-cells by many const too. We need conveyor system.
After staring at the empty interior of my current project for several hours I'm finally making progress again. I had an idea for how to lay out the power generators which lead to finding a spot for the warp core and then the fuel tanks last night. Today I decided I didn't like what I'd done with the fuel tanks so I ripped all that out and redid it with something better. I also redid the core housing while I was at it and it's just kind of grown organically from there. I think the interior is probably going to take longer than the hull did and texturing/painting might take as long as both combined. /sigh Going to have to double check the flight mechanics again at some point when the interior is further along. I opted to put more thrusters than was needed so hopefully it won't be a problem. I updated one of my HVs too. Added some LCD screens and threw some ASCII art on them. Alas, I have no talent or patience for making my own and I couldn't find one that replicated a decent RADAR/HUD display. Update: And today I laid out the bridge and decided where I wanted to place ammo/o2. I've got 56 ammo boxes, 46 o2 tanks, and 60 fuel tanks with room for more if needed. Placed in various locations for redundancy and armored up for protection. With that done I can get back to prettying up the rest of the ship.
